Roles include: human factors design, material selection, heat transfer and design for manufacture.

Product Designer (June 2014 - Sept 2014) - Airbus Group, Bauhaus Luftfahrt e.V., MTU Engines Working in Munich, my role as an industrial designer included designing and visualising future cabin concepts which comply to strict FAR regulations as well as defining new passenger procedures and experiences.

Product Design Intern (July 2013 - Sept 2013) - Bauhaus Luftfahrt e.V. Three month internship at transport design consultancy based in Munich. My time was split between three exciting projects; future cabin designs for an A320 sized aircraft, rapid turn around ground handling vehicle and a wearable identification tag for streamlining airport transit and passenger tracking. The passenger identification device was developed for my masters project which has been chosen for further development by Airbus.

Snowboard Instructor (2008 - 2013) - West of Scotland Snowsports Centre:Working as an instructor excelled my ability to work as a leader within a team and has given me invaluable experience working with the general public.

StatementI am a dedicated and motivated product design engineer who has recently graduated with a first class masters degree. Apple Applicant Finalist (2014)One of a select few graduates world wide to be considered for a non graduate, product design engineer role at Apple. Interview process involved presenting my Apple Design Project and a series of live engineering problem solving interviews on site at the corporate headquarters in Cupertino, CA.

William Ross Award (2014)I received the William Ross Award for the highest distinction in mechanical design at the University of Glasgow.

HGF Design and Innovation Award (2014)My final year project received a design and innovation award from HGF for outstanding achievement in my year.

Engineering Excellence List (2013)An award to acknowledge that my grade point average for my engineering subjects remained at 1st class (or ‘A’) level.

Pixar Innovation Award (2013)One of fifteen applicants selected to take part in the Pixar Innovation workshop and competition. I worked with Oscar winning movie director Mark Andrews to develop a transport concept which went on to win the award.

NESTA: Hands Off My Bike Finalist (2013)Designed and prototyped a new bike lock in a hope to prevent bicycle theft. From a range of initial applicants my design was shortlisted for the final event in London.

NCR National Design Award Winner (2012)Designed and prototyped an ATM concept which awarded first place out of a range of university applicants.

Innotrans 2014Funded by Innotrans 2014 to exhibit a transport concept at the premier of the Future Mobility Park. The concept, The Horizon System, was featured in many media outlets which lead to extensive industry networking.

British Airways Project Collaboration (2013/2014)Responsible for sourcing and setting up project sponsorship from British Airways. The collaboration lead to funded research trips, access to BA Engineering resources and multiple project presentations to the company.
