    CV-CCD Level 4 Automatic Measurement System

    Major Software Functionality.

    Providing traverse details for single or multiple start position. Standardising

    of calibration & measurement criteria. Level of automation is set via a tick

    box scripting system. Indentation measurements are displayed as they are

    made in a results box as well as real time updating of the reduced size graph

    hardness profile as the process progresses. If a re-measure function is

    required this may be dealt with automatic measurements or manual overlay

    filar lines should the indentation be unduly effected by some material or

    polishing artefact.

    Indentation measurements are displayed in a results box as they are

    completed providing instant updating of graph hardness profile as the

    process progresses. The results profile may be interrogated to establish the

    effective case depth value (Eht, Rht, Nht,. Eht-80%, Rht-80%, Nht-80%, Eht-

    Rel, Rht-Rel, Nht-Rel). The graph will display multiple overlays of profiles if

    required.

    Results may be saved and reloaded for future assessment if required. All

    profile details are stored including operator and sample information if this has

    been entered. The automatic report system enables results and graphical

    information to be produced with the minimum of effort.

    Automatic export to Excel templates. Systems provide a full range of process

    status information as well as security for aspects such as calibration. Each

    system is provided with three levels of security to enable minor system

    adjustments at Operator level, intermediate adjustments at Supervisor

    level and fundamental adjustments at Engineer level. .

    3 Axis Control

    Indentation traverse start positions are selected by clicking with a mouse on

    the computer image and the traverse direction selected by dragging the

    mouse in the direction required. As many traverses may be set at any one

    time as required. High positional repeatability from start position of better

    than 3 microns. The 3 axis XY&Z controller allows auto-focus of indentation

    allowing for faster indent measurement.
