Benefits
The ability of the students to share their work and to learn from each other increased the knowledge they gained from the course.
BenefitsStudents discovered that many teachers use Pinterest to generously share teaching ideas, lesson plans and learning activities. •Early exposure to these resources will be valuable to them as they proceed through their teacher preparation programs and will serve them well as them become practicing teachers.
Transparency of the student products•Unfortunately, in the past, there had been instances of plagiarism issues that arose out of the record of books assignment. By publishing everyone's work for all to see, this problem was virtually eliminated.
The visual format of the Pinterest presentation of the books will promote use of a wider selection of books as viewers can quickly become attracted by a picture of a book's cover than by just a written summary of those books.
Student Feedback
"I was really scared at first, because I had never used Pinterest, but it was so much fun."
"I never heard of Pinterest before this class, and now I am addicted."
