doris is a single mother of five children. she works hard to make ends meet
each month, and is going tonursing school in addition toworking a full-time job; she wants to have a career that can help support her children and help others. this past winter, she came to manna in tears.
she had to use the money set aside for herelectric bill tocover her rent.she fell behindon her utility bill, and her electricitywas turned off.she needed help.
manna helpeddoris by payingpart of her electricbill to restore her lights and heat, and encouraged her to use ourfood pantry and other services asneeded. doris was grateful for ourhelp. “if it wasn’t for manna, myfamily would be out on the street. itseems like every time i get up, i fallback down. manna has helped tokeep me grounded.”
thanks to our community ofsupporters, manna will continue tohelp doris as she looks for a moreaffordable apartment for her family.she knows our doors are openseven days a week to help withcrises, emergency food, and toprovide a welcoming, listening ear.
