Secondary Underground Distribution products are used for secondarydistribution and underground service at 600 V or less. Both copper andaluminum conductors insulated with XLPE or with ruggedized XLPEinsulation are available as single conductor, or as duplex, triplex orquadruplex assemblies.

ese products are typically used in Underground primaryresidential and commercial distribution circuits by the utilities.Installation practices for these products include ducts or directburial methods. Both copper and aluminum conductors insulatedwith TRXLPE or EPR insulation and 100% or 133% insulationthickness are available from 5 kV through 35 kV. Dierentoptions for concentric neutrals and jackets are also available tosuit the needs of the application. Other options include suitablemoisture barriers, semiconducting jackets and parallel or triplexedassemblies of cables.

Recognized as one of the oldest and most reliable cable designs,PILC cables are used in power distribution and other industrialapplications. While cables insulated with polymeric materials(TRXLPE and EPR) are very common today, use of PILC productscontinues to support their use in existing networks. Single andmulticonductor assemblies of copper conductors insulated withpaper tapes are available from 1 kV through 25 kV. Dierent alloysfor lead sheath and optional jacket over the lead sheath are alsoavailable to meet customers’ requirements.

With the latest technology and highest standards of quality and service, CME offers a full range of bare and insulated conductors to both the utility and distribution markets. These products are supported by technical experts to help our customers achieve their desired results.

To ensure customers’ satisfaction, CME facilities have attained accreditation of ISO 9001, 14001, and 17025. Above all, through our products and services, CME is committed to total satisfaction.

As leading supplier to electrical utilities, CME offers a broad product scope including:

Bare ConductorsCME offers both copper and aluminum conductors. Aluminum conductors for transmission and distribution applications include: AAC, AAAC, ACAR, ACSR, ACSR-TP, ACSR/TW AND ACSS/TW.

Covered line wires are used primarily for overhead secondary distribution lines. They are installed on insulators, otherwise treated as a bare conductor. Both copper and aluminum conductors (AAC, AAAC and ACSR) are available with XLPE or PE covering.
