As indicated by the activities of the communication and dissemination of the

FINERPOL project, AGENEX has developed several actions in order to give more

visibility and dissemination to the project.

The main activities are:

• Organization of interregional dissemination activities

• Upgrading of existing web information

• Design and elaboration of communication tools like projects newsletter,

published dossier about interregional events…

• Participation in annual Interreg Europe events:

During the second semester, two dissemination activities were developed coinciding

with the Interregional Events.

1. Coinciding with the Interregional Event 5, was hold the Workshop “EU

FINANCIAL INSTRUMENTS: SUPPORTING PROJECTS IN WESTERN

MACEDONIA” on May 3rd in Kozani (Greece). The workshop was attended by

almost 100 stakeholders and 230 students with representation of different

sectors: public administration, regional public administration, municipalities,

financial institutions, research organizations, construction sectors, consulting

companies, etc.

2. Coinciding with the Interregional Event 6, was hold the Workshop

“INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE - FINANCIAL INSTRUMENTS FOR

ENERGY RENOVATIONS: THE POLISH EXPERIENCE” on May 30th in

Gdansk (Poland). The workshop was attended by 80 stakeholders.

Also, several dissemination activities were organized in Semester 3 with the aim to

disseminate the development of project activities.

4th International ASHRAE Conference “Energy in Buildings –

Northern Hellas 2017”. Thessaloniki, Hellas (Greece), May 6th 2017

In 6th of May 2017, the Western Macedonia University of Applied Sciences

(TEIWM) was invited to present the FINERPOL project and relative good

practices at the 4th International ASHRAE Conference “Energy in Buildings –

Northern Hellas 2017”.

The conference included presentations by companies, research institutes, ASHRAE

officers, EU-project consultants, all from the energy efficiency in buildings field:

• The President of ASHRAE, Timothy Wentz

• Dr Costas Balaras from the National Observatory of Athens

• Stavros Boultadakis, from Siemens S.A.

• Dr Pantelis Panagiotou, from the Bavarian Research Alliance (BAYFOR)

• Etc.

The conference was attended by more than 70 participants, with representation of

different sectors: public administration, regional public administration, municipalities,

financial institutions, research organizations, construction sectors, consulting

companies, etc.

Dr Tsiamitros, on behalf of the TEIWM team, delivered the speech with title:

“Synergies of Financial Instruments for the Energy Refurbishment of the Public

Buildings in the Grevena Prefecture”, where the TEIWM activities were presented and

a good practice from the FINERPOL project.

EPC Seminar, Exeter (UK), May 26th 2017

This seminar was attended by UK consortium members. External speakers attended

from RE:FIT Partnerships (an EPC procurement framework) and EnergyPro (Steve

Fawkes – an independent expert on EPCs and EE Finance). Two presentations were

interspersed with questions and discussion. At the end of the event stakeholders were

better informed regarding the pros and cons of EPCs in general, and of the features

offered by the RE:FIT Framework.

Workshop: Financial Instruments for Energy Investments.

Prague (Czech Republic), September 12th 2017

The University Centre of Energy Efficient Buildings, Czech Technical University in

Prague organized a workshop devoted to the issue of financial instruments to support

energy measures that was

attended by 90 representatives

of managing authorities,

beneficiaries of financial

support, representatives of

municipalities, small and

medium-sized enterprises,

industry, consultancy firms,

banking sector and academic

community. The event took place on 12th September 2017 in the building of the

Ministry of Industry and Trade in Prague

The workshop was opened by Vladimír Sochor, the Director of the Department of

Energy Efficiency and Savings of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. He summarized

the current situation in the available operational programmes and highlighted other

options to increase the overall volume of energy savings. Luděk Jaroš of the Ministry

for Regional Development stated the key prerequisites for the application of the

financial instrument in the Integrated Regional Operational Program. Then the

contribution of Miloš Rybička from the State Environmental Fund followed, which

informed the participants about the detailed setup of the financial instrument under the

Operational Programme for the Environment.

The morning block was closed by Petr Mydlil (CTU UCEEB) presentation summarising

the essentials of the energy study. Practical experience of implementing energy

measures into practice was the focus of the afternoon session. Jaroslav Klusák,

Energy Manager of Litoměřice, introduced the town’s approach to prepare quality

projects to introduce new technologies and long-term energy savings. Details of the

EPC project process with the emphasis on management and modification after

implementation was specified by Radim Kohoutek from DS Energy Consulting. The

final discussion reflected the topics discussed in the afternoon block. There was calling

to raise awareness about successful energy projects, to work with individual target

groups in a long term, and to improve information sharing.
