Criança Esperança (“Child Hope”)

“Child Hope” is a national social mobilization campaign that seeks to raise awareness on the rights of children and teenagers. It’s promoted by Globo channel, initially in partnership with UNICEF and currently with UNESCO. The project is one of the most successful brands related to social programs targeted to needy children worldwide.

The “Child Hope” shows (which happen every year in October) have many artists, including musicians, presenters and cast members of the station, which join to begin the period of collection of donations made by viewers and various institutions.

In 2014 the campaign will support 103 social projects all over Brazil, which will benefit approximately 48,000 kids and teenagers.

FILM SYNOPSIS

Quvenzhane Wallis (Beasts of the Southern Wild) plays the lead role in Annie, the re-imagining of the stage musical being directed by Will Gluck (Easy A, Friends with Benefits). The script is based on the musical and its book, which originated from the Little Orphan Annie comic strip. James Lassiter, Jada Pinket Smith, and Will Smith are producing via Overbrook Entertainment, along with Shawn “Jay Z” Carter, Jay Brown, and Tyran “Ty Ty” Smith through Marcy Media.

Donation: Sony (as a group) make a donation to the campaign, in order to promote the movie. This donation will be publicized during their live show (which is aired on Globo channel in October), along with a recorded message from the cast, saying the movie supports the campaign and encourage viewers to call and donate as well.

Premieres: Promote special premieres of the movie around Christmas to children and teenagers from selected supported projects in different cities of Brazil.

This premieres can also be publicized during the live show, as a future tie-in to the release itself. These premieres will be covered by Globo local (and even nationwide shows.)
