Ancillary Production Plan/Schedule for photography of the Ancillary Products: Magazine: image of main character-James Poster: Sophie covered in blood Dates: Magazine cover shot: Wednesday 29 th October 2014 Poster cover photo: Wednesday 29 th October 2014 Locations: Magazine cover shot: The shot of James in character as the demon will be used as the main image and will be taken outside in an open place, possibly in front of the house which is the main location for the trailer. If James is the only thing that will be shown on the magazine cover, the background may be blacked out. Poster cover photo: For the promotional poster, the shot is of Sophie covered in blood, replicating a scene that is shown in the trailer. The location for this shot is inside Michaela’s house, the main location for the trailer. This will offer continuity between all of the promotional products and wil l help to make the film more memorable for the audience. Props: Magazine cover shot: The props that we will use for the shot of James as the demon is white make- up to make him appear more ghostly and conventional for the audience and the films genre. Also, high key or low key lighting may be used depending on whether we decide to makes James a shadowy figure in the shot, so therefore we would use low key lighting/lighting from a distance or if we wanted emphasis to be placed on James’ face specifically by using low angled high key lighting. This would also appeal to the conventions because James’ facial expression would connote anger whilst the background would not be clear so the audience would be left unaware of what would be there. Poster cover photo: For the photo of the character Sophie covered in blood, we will use fake blood and low key lighting again to show the fear on Sophie’s face, building tension for the audience and suspicion as to why she is in this state. The background for the shot is Michaela’s house, so props in the background will include shelves of pictures/a clock/ a chair – objects that will be seen again in the films trailer. This links the promotional products together and gaining interest as to what role the props included might play/what clues they may offer. Costume: Magazine cover shot: For the magazine cover photo of James, he will be wearing a black top highlighting his pale skin that is conventional for a demon. Due to the shot of James being a close-up of his face, the top he is wearing may not be seen, except for the collar or neckline of the top.

Poster cover photo: Wednesday 29th October 2014

Locations:

Magazine cover shot: The shot of James in character as the demon will be used as the main image

and will be taken outside in an open place, possibly in front of the house which is the main location

for the trailer. If James is the only thing that will be shown on the magazine cover, the background may be blacked out.

Poster cover photo: For the promotional poster, the shot is of Sophie covered in blood, replicating a

scene that is shown in the trailer. The location for this shot is inside Michaela’s house, the main

location for the trailer. This will offer continuity between all of the promotional products and wil l

help to make the film more memorable for the audience.

Props:

Magazine cover shot: The props that we will use for the shot of James as the demon is white make-

up to make him appear more ghostly and conventional for the audience and the films genre. Also,

high key or low key lighting may be used depending on whether we decide to makes James a

shadowy figure in the shot, so therefore we would use low key lighting/lighting from a distance or if

we wanted emphasis to be placed on James’ face specifically by using low angled high key lighting.

Poster cover photo: For the photo of Sophie, Sophie will be wearing a ripped, dirty and blood

stained white top to connote the belief that she has been hurt and was in danger, to the point that

she is now close to death. Sophie’s face will express fear, through the use of tears or a pleading tone.

Sophie’s face may also have blood or dirt on it, to match her top and the belief that she has been involved in a struggle with James, the demon.

Personnel/Casting:

Magazine cover shot: James is the only character that will be shown in the shot for the cover of the

magazine due to him being a main character. Also, by using James in the shot, foreshadows that he

will play a crucial part in the film and will be involved in a range of key events that the audience are not aware of yet.

Poster cover photo: Sophie is the only character to be shown in the photo for the poster because

she is a man character and having her shown to be emotional and covered in blood catches and

holds the audience’s attention, making the storyline and the films promotional package more

memorable for the audience. The photo also foreshadows that the film falls under the genre of

horror and that the films may be of a violent and gruesome nature, with people dying or being

tortured by others.
