ANAND INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT A REPORT ON ORIENTATION PROGRAMME ON AUGUST 06, 2015. Venue: Town hall, Anand. Time: 10.00 am to 1.00 pm ANAND INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT (MBA Programme) managed by SRKSM had organized an orientation programme for the newly admitted MBA students at Anand town hall on 6th August 2015 at 10.00 am. The major objective of the programme was to make the parents and students aware of the academic aspects of the course, the rules and regulations of the Institute and ensuring parental participation in monitoring the performance and progress of the students. The day was started with registration of the students wherein total 113 registrations were done. Out of which newly admitted 41 students were from Anand Institute of Management and 72 students were from Anand Commerce College (comprising T.Y BBA, T.Y B.Com & T.Y BCA students). INAUGURATION OF ORIENTATION PROGRAMME The Inauguration Function started with a Prayer Dance by Ms. Mansi Mirchandani a student of MBA Semester III. Then the programme was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by the President of the function Smt. Jyotsanaben Patel (Honourable Secretary of SRKSM), Guest of Honour Dr. Mitesh Dadhania (Deputy Director, GTU), Guest of Honour Mr. Aditya Nath Jha, (General Manager, NDDB), Dr. N. N Patel (Principal of Anand Commerce College) and Dr. Nirmal Sharma (Director of Anand Institute of Management).

ON AUGUST 06, 2015.

ANAND INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT (MBA Programme) managed by

The other dignitaries that graced the function were Dr. Tejalben Gandhi

(Principal of Anand Pharmacy College), Shri B. C Gandhi (Financial Advisor

of SRKSM), Dr. Chhayaben Patel (Director of Anand Institute of Information

Science), Dr. Rekha Kumari (I/C Principal Anand Law College), Dr. Anu

Mehta (I/C Principal Anand Institute of Post Graduate Studies), Dr. V. T

Bhamwari (Principal of Anand Education College).

WELCOME AND INTRODUCTION OF GUEST

Dr. Bindiya Soni (Associate Professor of Anand Institute of

Management) briefly introduced and welcomed the President of the

function, Guests of honour with a bouquet and momento.

WELCOME SPEECH BY DIRECTOR OF ANAND INSTITUTE OF

MANAGEMENT

Dr. Nirmal Sharma (Director of Anand

Institute of Management) delivered his

welcome address for the incoming students,

familiarizing the students to AIM’s teaching

philosophy, academic learning methodology and

their role as good students. He highlighted some

of the important activities of the AIM like student

counselling cell, placement cell, mock interviews

and extensive use of technology for facilitating

student in the studies.

He informed the students about the various facilities available in the

institute for the students.

He also highlighted the accomplishments of the institute faculty and

assured the parents that their wards were in safe hands. He emphasized

the need for continuous hard work and commitments from students so that

Anand Institute of Management can also reach to the higher level like IIM

and NMIMS.

It was a mesmerizing session, to listen to someone so senior, so well-

educated and yet so humble, delivering a very relevant message to the

students.

Thereafter, AIM’s Journey video clip was shown to the students, to make

semester I students aware about the institute, its staff members and the

college activities which the institute had organised since its inception till

present.

BLESSINGS FROM FORMER DIRECTOR

Dr. N. N Patel (Principal of

Anand Commerce College)

delivered his address on

management learnings for

students, specially citing

Bhagwad Geeta. Drawing on

ancient wisdom and

management practices of

ancient India’s heritage, he

said that India had taught

management to the world and

not the other way around.

ABSTRACTION OF DR. MITESH DADHANIA’s (DEPUTY DIRECTOR,

GTU) SPEECH

Dr. Mitesh Dadhania (Deputy

Director, GTU) interacted with the

parents and students citing the

examples and illustrations to justify

the need and relevance of

management in day to day life

processes. He gave message to the

students that planning and

management is the most important factor in each and every activity of

human life.

EXPERIENCE SHARING BY MR. ADITYA NATH JHA (GENERAL

MANAGER, NDDB)

Mr. Aditya Nath Jha

has shared his experience

with the students on various

aspects of practical learning,

highlighting what attributes

industry looks for while

hiring B school graduates.

Technical and functional

capabilities, communication,

proactive attitudes, and

willingness to work hard were of paramount importance.

Smt. Jyotsanaben Patel

(Honourable Secretary of SRKSM) in

her presidential remarks welcomed

newly admitted students to SRKSM and

AIM family and inspired student by her

great words.

INTERACTION WITH ALUMNI & PRESENT BATCH STUDENTS

The final session of the day was interaction with Alumni and senior batch

students. AIM students of current batch and earlier batch, comforted the

incoming batch, taking them through their positive experiences at AIM.

Semester III students

had performed a skit

based on college life

which was dedicated to

their juniors. The new

batch found the skit very

entertaining.

Finally, Ms. Suchi Patel (Assistant

Professor of Anand Institute of

Management) gave the vote of

thanks, extending gratitude towards

the dignitaries, students, parents,

staff members and various people

who contributed to make the event

a success.

The students, parents and guests

were served light refreshment after

the program.
