■ Received Silver and Bronze at National STAR Events during the summer in Nashville, TN

■ Ms. Valerie Lawson wrote a $45,000 start up grant for new program of study - Consumer Services. Students will create own T-Shirt Business called The Hive Designs.

■ FACS students cater high school events (College Fair, Parent/Teacher Conferences, etc.)

■ CHS Cheer won the Stunt Competition at camp this summer■ Cheer is helping with Buddy Walk, Ronald McDonald House

fundraiser, and is hosting a mini “Lil Stingers” cheer camp for 4 year olds-6th grade

+CHS SPORTS:

■ Football: Won “Battle of Little Red” (2 years straight). Jackets have a 6-0 season as of 10-12-17.

■ Tennis finished regular season 10-2. Will compete in District Tournament in October. 4 members are expected to qualify for state.

■ Golf – Finished 3rd in the State and Ty Johnson competed in the Overall Golf Tournament.

■ Senior High Volleyball finished 3rd in the district, heading into the tournament starting on Monday.  We finished 4-4.  We will play ICC on Monday night to start our district tournament run at 6:30 pm.  If we win that game, we have a place in the state tournament at the end of October.  Also if we win Monday night, it will put us playing the number 2 seed in the tournament which is Cotter on Tuesday.  That will be a great game.  We have beaten them once and they have beaten us once.  Then the finals will be on Thursday night.

leaders● Alondra Carrizales won the $2,500 scholarship. This earned
