Firdaus will also illustrate how the MicroStrategy platform is being
used to harness enterprise information, with self-service data
discovery and visualization across the organization. Finally, he will

Hands-on Workshop: MicroStrategy Dossier

This workshop will introduce you to MicroStrategy Dossier, a
completely new way to author and consume analytics. The hands-
on exercise will offer step-by-step instructions to show you how to
connect to data and build your first dossier. You will also learn about
the new consumer experience and collaboration tools. Additional
capabilities for data discovery, data preparation, and enterprise BI will
also be highlighted. During the session, you will:
• Learn how to author new dossiers and create interactive
analytical books with reports and dashboards.
• Interact with data within dossiers with multiple data visualizations.
• Add multiple types of filters to find answers faster.
• Publish and share a dossier for consumption via web and mobile.
• Learn about the MicroStrategy Library, and how your
consumers have a single location to instantly access and easily
search for information.
• Use new, built-in collaboration features to share insights and
discuss findings. Attendees are advised to bring their own laptops and tablets (optional) with them in order to complete the workshop exercises.
Hands-on Workshop: Mobile Productivity Apps on iPad

During this workshop, you will build an interactive mobile
productivity app for iPad. In this workshop, you will:
• Build a mobile workflow app with no coding skills required.
• Learn how to use out-of-the-box mapping capabilities and
perform geospatial analysis.
• Incorporate device-optimized text boxes, thresholds,
grids and graphs.
• Configure and create transactional inputs that leverage
native mobile device capabilities, including camera and
signature capture.
• Learn how to enable and use the MicroStrategy Mobile write-back
capability using Transaction Services. Attendees are advised to bring their own laptops and iPads with them in order to complete the workshop exercises.
Hands-on Workshop: Predictive Analytics and R

This hands-on workshop is a deep dive into advanced data discovery
functionality, with a focus on how to leverage native analytical
functions, data mining capabilities, and R models in your analyses. In
this workshop, you will:
• Learn how to use the R Integration Pack to include R models in
your analyses.
• Become familiar with a variety of advanced analytical techniques
such as trend analysis, market basket analysis, and forecasting
through both native functions and third-party options.
• Access, blend, prepare, and visualize data to build your
own dashboard.
• Learn how to use trend lines and the native library for
predictive analytics and the different options you have for the
same with R analytics. Attendees are advised to bring their own laptops with them in order to complete the workshop exercises.
Hands-on Workshop: Introduction to Enterprise IoT with Usher Telemetry and Analytics

Learn the fundamentals of creating an Usher Network, designing
an Usher Badge, and deploying this badge to end-users. No prior
knowledge of digital identity is needed: Usher Network Manager
provides an intuitive, self-service, cloud-based application for any
organization to create mobile identity badge networks and secure
systems and applications. In this hands-on workshop, you will learn:
• How to configure and register Bluetooth beacons.
• How to set up digital keys.
• How to use Usher Analytics to create a MicroStrategy dashboard
based on the telemetry data you will generate. Attendees are advised to bring their own laptops and a mobile device (iOS or Android) in order to complete the workshop.

Michael J. SaylorChairman, President & CEO, MicroStrategy
Mr. Saylor is a technologist, entrepreneur, business executive,
philanthropist, and best-selling author. He currently serves as
Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of
MicroStrategy, Inc. Since co-founding the company at the age of 24,
Mr. Saylor has built MicroStrategy into a global leader in business
intelligence, mobile software, and cloud-based services. In 2012, he
authored The Mobile Wave: How Mobile Intelligence Will Change
Everything, which earned a spot on The New York Times Best Sellers
list. Mr. Saylor attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology,
receiving an S.B. in Aeronautics and Astronautics and an S.B. in
Science, Technology, and Society.
Remus Lim General Manager, MicroStrategy
Remus is the Senior Director for ASEAN at MicroStrategy. He is
responsible for all sales and channel activities and the profitability
of the ASEAN business unit. He drives revenue growth, manages
the sales team, develops partners, expands market penetration, and
brings innovation to market.
Remus is extremely passionate about how data and analytics can
transform lives and businesses. He has deep experience and success
taking new innovation to market and partnering with customers in
their business transformation.
Prior to joining MicroStrategy, Remus held sales management
positions for several companies including SAP, IBM, and Oracle.
Remus holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computing and
Information Systems. In his free time, Remus likes to run and travel to
go scuba diving and mountain trekking.
Firdaus Bin Ahmad FaudziHead of IT Reporting & Analytics,Bank Rakyat
Firdaus Bin Ahmad Faudzi has over 8 years of IT transformation
experience with specialisations in CRM, enterprise data warehouse
and data management solutions, BI, and data analytics. Firdaus
is currently the Head of IT Reporting & Analytics at Bank Rakyat
and is responsible for driving the company’s BI and application
development strategy and implementation. He is also leading their
Digital Transformation project with MicroStrategy.
Kyung-Whu ChungPrincipal Sales Engineer, MicroStrategy
With more than 10 years of experience with business analytics,
Kyung-Whu Chung brings experience and knowledge in various
industries and related technologies. As a Principal Sales Engineer
focusing on big data and governed self-service, Kyung-Whu also
took very important roles in a number of big data projects in major
companies in Korea including Samsung, SK, Kakao, and Amore Pacific.
Harshil GandhiSenior MicroStrategy Consultant, InfoCepts
Harshil Gandhi is Senior MicroStrategy Consultant at InfoCepts.
Based in Singapore, Harshil specializes in MicroStrategy-based BI
projects. He has wide experience in delivering complex BI projects
and has worked with clients based in the US, Singapore, and India
extensively. He has helped clients in conceptualizing and designing
highly scalable BI solutions, BI tools migration, and designing and
delivering BI apps and dashboards. He has extensive experience in
the banking and retail domains.

Syed Umer Jamal Regional Director,Inseyab Consulting & Information Solutions
Syed Umer Jamal has 10 years of experience in business intelligence
and data analytics. He has led successful deployments of over 20
large-scale business intelligence projects in both government
and commercial sectors. He has helped Unilever, Arab Satellite
Communications Organization (ARABSAT), Abu Dhabi Government,
and Saudi Government functionaries deploy complex data analytics
solutions. Umer is currently the APAC Head of Sales and Service
Delivery for Inseyab Consulting & Information Solutions.
Yap Kuan KwongSales Engineer, MicroStrategy
Kuan Kwong (KK) Yap is a MicroStrategy Sales Engineer based in
Singapore for the ASEAN region. Mr. Yap has over 15 years of
experience in the enterprise applications industry, with extensive
experience as a solution architect particularly in the manufacturing
and logistics industry, having implemented several projects to
streamline and improve the business. He also has vast experience
in partner management, project management, and business
consulting across several industries like healthcare, food and
beverage, and retail among others.
Stace ChowManager, Sales Engineering, MicroStrategy
Stace has worked at MicroStrategy for more than 10 years. She
started as a Pre-Sales Consultant and now manages the Sales
Engineering team for the ASEAN and Greater China region. As
a strong advocate for business analytics, Stace has worked with
numerous customers across several industries including financial
institutions, retail, government, and telecommunications. She
has been heavily involved in helping clients use their corporate
data to better understand revenue trends and streamline their
business processes to gain a competitive advantage. In addition to
MicroStrategy, Stace has experience working with other BI platforms
including Cognos, Hyperion, BusinessObjects, and SPSS.
Ali FarooqDirector, Sales Engineering, MicroStrategy
Ali has been working for MicroStrategy for 7 years. He relocated
to Asia-Pacific in 2016 to head the pre-sales organization for APAC.
He leads a team of pre-sales experts that cover 16 countries and
support a customer base across many unique and diverse cultures.
In his previous role, he was responsible for pre-sales and business
development of MicroStrategy Usher, where he gained expertise
in the areas of security and IoT. Ali has 14 years of experience in
business intelligence, data mining, and advanced analytics. Prior
to MicroStrategy, he served in roles as a six Sigma Black Belt, and
manager of a BI Center of Excellence. Ali has a Masters in Computer
Science (data mining) from Purdue and an MBA in Management
from Bradley University. In his leisure time, he loves to spend time
with his three kids, play golf, write, and travel.
