This is also done to make the movie more realistic and give an effect of realism for the audience and feel like they are more engaged with the movie. The beginning of the trailer represents the scene and the family moving into a new home and being very happy. The trailer also gives away why the family is moving, so the father can write a new book about a series of murders. But as the trailer progresses the audiences realizes there is much more to it than that. This is used by high lighting to show they are happy but dark lighting as the trailer progresses.
