Inside Asda in shown so that the audience can relate to it because it is likely that people watching the advert have been in the store before. Advertising Techniques – What techniques are used and why? Emotion and comedy is used in the advert to draw parents in. It’s relatable and understandable, by the fact that it has familiar scenarios. Narrative – What is the story of the ad, characters, settings, conflicts, resolutions? A mum is preparing Christmas and throughout the weeks of preparing she goes to Asda to get toys, food, decorations. The idea is to say that it’s mum who makes Christmas special and it’s Asda that helps mum. Target Audience – Who is the product for? The audience is mums/adults. Sounds - What can you hear? You can hear a rock version of a Christmas song and general noises of sighing, babies crying and mum shouting.
