Manufacturers, suppliers, and engineers across the supply chain have seen a shift from the traditional healthcare model to one that’s predictive and offers patients more options for managing their own health.

“Spire Health seeks USD 25m to carry respiratory health monitor business to cashflow break-even, CEO says”

“Spire has raised approximately USD 25m to date... The company does not have a lead investor for the new round yet, but is in talks with multiple potential partners, said Palley from the sidelines of the MD&M Conference in Anaheim last month. Spire’s sensor attaches to a respiratory disorder patient’s clothing, monitoring his or her vitals with the goal of catching irregularities early and reducing hospitalizations, he said.”

As manufacturers attempt to adapt their factories towards automated and “smarter” means, heavy emphasis is being placed upon automated technology including robotics as well as innovative manufacturing processes like 3D printing, as well as how implementation of these advanced technologies will impact the workforce.

Coverage Trends“Combined Trade Shows in Anaheim Introduce the Latest in Robotics and Manufacturing”

“A large area of emphasis that attendees will see is the trend of robotic and automation solutions for the factory floor. Many exhibitors will be featuring robotics that are built for use in manufacturing plants across various industries.”

“A Hub of Insight and Learning”

“This year, the key focus is on data, artificial intelligence and machine learning, offering

attendees a wealth of resources to discuss how efficiencies can be made using the most cutting-edge innovations. As devices become more personalised for consumers, the manufacturing process required to make them has to adapt... There is not only a demand for advancing technologies, but also for a workforce that has the skills and knowledge to support the changing landscape in which they are applied.”

“Automation Technology Expo (ATX) West and Design & Manufacturing (D&M) next week to see IIoT updates”

“This year, a major topic and trend at Pacific D&M will be spotlighting 3D printing’s immense value in the manufacturing process apart from basic prototyping as 3D printing technology can majorly influence manufacturing processes to perform at a higher and faster performance.”

“How Aerospace and Defense Respond to Disruptive Forces”

“The takeaway from the shift in technology is that when a company’s value proposition is clear and it’s good for the customer, then it’s going to be good for your company as well. Said Reese [at ATX West]: “When people say automation is taking away jobs, we don’t subscribe to that. We think automation, robots and AI are going to change your job. That’s why rescale is important.”

Ahead of the Cannabis Packaging Summit, the event’s Brand Director Steve Everly authored byline articles for and was quoted in a number of top-tier and industry publications highlighting the show and timely related topics.

EVENT OVERVIEW | In 2020 we launch the inaugural Cannabis Packaging Summit, the first event of its kind to focus exclusively on cannabis packaging. Partnering with North America’s premier packaging technology event, WestPack, the one-and-a-half-day summit welcomed legislative, regulatory, educational, technology and industry leaders to discuss packaging challenges and opportunities facing cannabis manufacturers and how the suppliers of packaging solutions can begin to approach this booming consumer market with greater insight and understanding.

“One segment of the supply-chain taking matters into its own hands is the global packaging market for cannabis products. Beyond ensuring packaging

safety, environmental friendliness and marketing appeal to consumers, packagers also want to eradicate the

black market. Both packagers and pro-cannabis associations are searching for

a more regulated marketplace.”

— Steve Everly, Brand Director for The Cannabis Packaging Summit

“We created the Cannabis Packaging Summit with a clear goal in mind: Bring the rapidly expanding cannabis industry

together with the nation’s well-established networks of packaging providers to help “close the final gap” in understanding

between the two markets.”
