An Undergraduate Teaching Strategy for Process Simulation in

Abstract In the current industrial practise, process design is normally started with process simulation via commercial
simulation software (e.g., ASPEN HYSYS, ASPEN PLUS, UniSim, Design II for Window, SuperPro, etc.) and
in-house programme. Therefore, graduates with process simulation skills have higher employability after they
completed their undergraduate programme. In order to build a strong foundation of process simulation skills
within graduates, Department of Chemical & Environmental Engineering, The University of Nottingham,
Malaysia has introduced and embedded process simulation skills in several modules at different levels across the
whole programme. In this work, an undergraduate teaching strategy for process simulation is presented.
