January 2017 Bishop Ryan Catholic School 701.838.3355 www.bishopryan.com Each year before Christmas, a group of hard-working elves (we know them as moms and dads) arrange treasures donated by Lion family and friends and transform the Bishop Ryan library into an extravanganza of giſt-giving for our preschool and elementary students. With help from the high schoolers, the preschoolers and elementary students have the opportunity to “shop” for giſts for the members of their immediate families. The elves takeover from there, helping with the wrapping and tagging, and then the presents go home for their wait under the tree. Preschool and elementary families were invited to make a donaon of their choosing to cover the shopping, and those funds are used to benefit a different charity each year. This year, Catholic Charies North Dakota was the recipient of our Santa Shop fun, and we were thrilled to giſt them with a check for $1800! To all who took part by donang goodies, seng up and pung away, wrapping, assisng the shoppers and offering contribuons, thank you for helping us spread some Christmas cheer! Another Successful Santa Shop Registraon for the 2017-2018 Lile Lions Preschool classes at Bishop Ryan is now open! Students who are three years old by July 31st, 2017, are able to enroll in our two-days or three-days- per-week classes. These half-day classes meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays or Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, respecvely. Students who are four years old by July 31st, 2017, and planning to enter Kindergarten during the 2018-2019 school year are eligible to register for our Kindergarten Readiness program. These classes meet five-days-per-week, half-day or full-day, and the curriculum is meant to help children prepare for and make a smoother transion to Kindergarten while focusing on a more in-depth approach to language, math and wring that promotes success with the kindergarten learning standards. Our preschool classes are taught by experienced teachers and include integrated music, physical educaon and library classes as part of an actual elementary school seng, and our students have the opportunity to play, learn and grow, surrounded by the faith in a Catholic school seng. Registration for the 2017-2018 Little Lions Preschool classes at Bishop Ryan is now open!
