An introduction When we first formed TIN Arts in 1999, we were keen to form a company that was recognised as innovative, dynamic and intimate. Over the past 11 years we have worked tirelessly to create, deliver and manage participatory arts and cultural activities for individuals and groups across the North East region of England. We have worked with over 60,000 people and delivered at least 10,000 workshops whilst constantly striving to make arts and culture accessible to the community reaching and engaging people of all backgrounds and abilities. Using our own dance training as a starting point, TIN Arts specialise in creative-based movement activity; however many of our programmes also cover a wide range of art forms as we embrace creativity in all its guises. We believe that participation in arts and cultural activity can support well-being, raise aspiration, create new opportunities and offer routes to learning. Our programmes are designed to ensure that each activity is both relevant and purposeful. We hope that by providing the highest quality arts and cultural activities we can support social change and enhance community cohesion. So far we have had an exciting 11 years and hope that the next 11 prove to be as much fun! Kind regards, Tess Chaytor Martin Wilson Creative Director Programme Director

Winner of the Journal Culture Awards Performance of the Year 2009 for our production ‘Cassop and Coal’ and finalist in the North East Business Awards 2009 in the ‘Best Creative Business’ category.

Our values Innovation Innovation is at the heart of everything we do, whether it’s dance or another artform. We work with our clients to create a programme that is new and exciting, and are not afraid of taking creative risks. Flexibility and Adaptability Over the years we have worked with participants in hospitals, care settings, schools, community settings to name but a few. We understand that every group we work has different needs, and are committed to providing a flexible and adaptable approach to meet the unique situation of our clients. Partnership We form an active working partnership with our clients. Our clients become a part of the creative process as we work together from the beginning of a programme until its end. Careful Planning All of our programmes are created specifically with the aims of the client and the participants in mind. We pay close attention to detail when planning to ensure that each activity is both relevant and purposeful in order to reach short-term and long-term goals. Safety We have a full range of policies and procedures to support and protect those we work with and those working on our behalf. On Budget and On Time Many of our programmes head towards performances and set targets, and we know that it is extremely important to our clients that each programme is delivered on budget and on time. We have a proven track record of achieving this goal. “TIN Arts has a ‘can do’ attitude and offers brilliant partnership working. TIN are straight forward, no nonsense and you can always trust them to get the job done, whatever it is!”

North East Client from 2009

Our artists TIN Arts work with some of the best artists from across the whole of the North East. We currently have 6 core staff and a pool of 14 Associate Artists who regularly deliver on our behalf. The Co-Directors have over 25 years of experience between them leading and creating participatory movement-based programmes. They regularly lead the training of all TIN’s artists developing each artists individual skills and the company’s methods of delivery. All of our artists are specialists within their chosen artform and qualified to at least degree level. All of our artists hold an Enhanced Disclosure as well as certificates in Safeguarding, Equity in your Coaching and Emergency First Aid training. A number of our artists have also undertaken Mental Health First Aid training and all are covered by TIN Arts extensive Public Liability Insurance. Our artists are creative thinkers with strong facilitation skills and are not afraid to take creative risks. Our artists have a vast range of experience of working at the highest level in participa-tory arts and take great pride in their work. They are reliable, easy to work with and pay attention to the smallest of details. “I think the skills that all the artists bring to each programme makes TIN Arts different to other organisations. TIN Arts staff are committed to working at the highest level and want to provide the best experience possible”
