Irene Grant, MD, is a board-certifi ed internist, combining internal medicine and infectious disease with medical nutrition – which equips her to recognize and manage challenging medical conditions, especially those with different types and degrees of weakened immunity. Her professional memberships include: the Infectious Disease Society of America, American Society of Microbiology, Infectious Disease Society of New York, American Academy of Medical Acupuncture, American College of Nutrition, and the American Academy of Environmental Medicine. Her board certifi cations include: American Board of Internal Medicine – Internal Medicine, Infectious Disease; trained in acupuncture, oriental medicine, herbology; certifi ed in medical acupuncture and in-ear acupuncture for substance abuse. She has received various awards, including Best Doctors of New York for Infectious Disease. She has been in clinical practice for 31 years and is located in Tarrytown NY.

Mike Mutzel, MSc. Since 2006, Mike Mutzel has blended his formal education, a degree in biology and graduate work in clinical nutrition, with his competitive athletic background and personal training experience to help others improve their health. He completed his graduate studies in the Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice (AFMCP) program, through the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM), and he continually works with healthcare professionals as a functional medicine consultant. He regularly conducts live webinars and workshops to help healthcare professionals keep abreast of the rapid advancements in the fi elds of nutrition, metabolism, and immunity.

Cheryl Burdette, ND, received her Doctor of Naturopathy degree from Bastyr University in 2001. She completed her residency at Cancer Treatment Centers of America and the Family Health and Wellness Center, one of three hospital-based residencies available to naturopathic doctors in the United States. While practicing in Atlanta, GA, she worked at Metametrix, a laboratory that specializes in nutritional and metabolic testing. There, she guided doctors through test results to aid their understanding of them and worked with the doctors to develop treatments that would address their patients’ unique biochemistries. Dr. Burdette is also the educational director of Dunwoody Labs. This gives her a unique insight into laboratory testing and how to improve a patient’s condition. She has lectured internationally, and believes that education is a critical component of empowering others on their journey to wellness.

Event Host:Amy Salerno, XYMOGEN, is certifi ed in both Chinese and Western herbology, and is a functional medicine consultant who has been creating educational seminars and conferences for healthcare practitioners since 1998. Amy has taught herbal medicine classes for Oxford Health Insurance company and authored their member booklet: “Herbs for Health, Wellness and Longevity.” Amy has won various awards, including the 2010 XYMOGEN MVP award for excellence in creating and executing educational events. Amy holds a B.S. in Marketing & Public Relations from Iona College, New Rochelle, NY, and studied nutrition at Syracuse University.

Richard Horowitz, MD, is a board-certifi ed internist in private practice in Hyde Park, NY. He is the medical director of the Hudson Valley Healing Arts Center, an integrative medical center that combines classical and complementary approaches in the treatment of Lyme disease and other tick-borne disorders. Dr. Horowitz has treated over 12,000 chronic Lyme disease patients and is past president elect of the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society (ILADS). In his book, Why Can’t I Get Better? Solving the Mystery of Lyme & Chronic Disease, he explains his full diagnostic and treatment approach to patients who have complex tick-borne illnesses.
