Par l'espace, l'univers me comprend et m'engloutit comme un point; par la pensée, je le comprends »  Pascal

"Through space the universe grasps me and swallows me up like a speck; through thought I grasp it."

European partnership : Scienceduc and POLLEN

Situation in Europe : Ambitious goals for 2010

( Lisbon)/ few E.U partnerships in education / subsidiarity / different curricula / science generally consider as a secondary matter/ teacher not ease with science / few investigation approach ...

Support of DG research for 2 projects for formal education

- Scienceduc (7 countries) : network of national programmes on teacher training/ dissemination / evaluation…

- POLLEN :12 cities / 12 countries / 1 goal / 1 approach / 12 models / common tools/evaluation and trainings + key issue

Conclusions

In 10 years in France : science in 3% 50% classes. In Europe t x 25 ? Pollen exponential effect ??

Scientist can play an essential role, • Promotion and implication at national and european scale• Accompanying teachers• Training• Writing guides for teachers and for trainers…

And astronomy tooIt is an interdisciplinary domain by itselfIt improves representations of the world at local and global level,

environment & abstraction It facilitates collaborative and international work
