Sedentary Lifestyle Sedentary lifestyle is a type of lifestyle with no or irregular physical activity. This type of living has been heavily influenced by the propagation of passive forms of entertainment such as reading books, watching television, playing video games and using computer during much of the day. It can contribute to many preventable causes of death. Moreover, large number of adult workers have shifted from physical labour to office jobs, especially in technologically developed nations. Living a sedentary life causes increasing weight, obesity and psychiatric problems which may lead to heart diseases, diabetes and certain types of cancer. It can also affect a person’s immune system, leading to even more negative health consequences. In my opinion, all the new trendy and technologically advanced gadgets are responsible for this condition of human beings who made them for the better future but the case is just opposite. All the people are entrapped in this net of modern and technological world full of gizmos which are advancing day by day whereas only a handful of them are able to benefit from these while rest of them are using these just for fun, who spend their time in front of the screen, be it of computer, television or mobile. It is very harmful for the students who spends hours reading and studying. Health is more important than study and it is a very crucial stage in a student’s life when almost all his physique, brain and immune system’s development takes place. Students should manage to get some time in morning or evening and do some outdoor activities and make a habit of going to school and tuition by cycle. Moreover, people should adopt cycling and walking as an alternative way of transportation. People should not sit in front of a screen for long. They should walk around in the house or in office periodically to avoid back sprains. At last people should not depend only on electronic gadgets for their entertainment, they should live in a realistic world rather than virtualistic. They can rejuvenate or refresh themselves from the beauty of nature. We should maintain a balance between physical activities and the time we spend in front of the screen.
