An Epistle from Paul:

An Epistle from Paul:

The Product of Necessity! A farm grass fire got out of hand; so, the farmer called the Logansport, Indiana fire department. The fire proved to be too much for their equipment; so, reinforcements were called in from nearby Kokomo, Indiana. The wind picked up however, and the two big city fire departments failed to contain this out of control grass fire.

It was under these circumstances that someone laughingly suggested sending for the fire department from the little town, Young America, Indiana. Well, someone did just that. Four volunteers and a beat-up fire truck were soon on their way to this fire. When they arrived they came roaring up to the fire and drove right out into the middle of it. They started spraying water and chemical every which way Guess what happened? Yes, it was this little volunteer fire department from Young America that eventually put this fire out.

Afterwards, the grateful farmer presented the Young America Fire Department with a check for $1,000.00. Hoosier Tom Captain Stubby Faust was there with his tape recorder. He asked the chief, What are you going to do with the $1,000.00? The chief replied, Well, the first thing were going to do is get the brakes fixed on that truck!

In the Body of Christ, each member must function with what the Lord has equipped them to contribute in the total work of the Church. 1 Corinthians 12:23-24 addresses the fact that often we give greater honor to the parts of the Body who appear more significant/important; whereas, the Lord often uses the members of lesser honor to accomplish His purposes. The point is clear: our Lord uses the product of necessity to accomplish His ends rather than focusing on the extra gifted to get the job done!!

Set Them Back!

Just a quick reminder that we are to set our clocks back one hour a week from this coming Sunday. Something about Daylight Saving Time and reverting back to Eastern Standard Time. This will give us a little daylight in the morning and will take away a whole lot of daylight in the evening. Honestly, does this make any sense to any of us? Just asking!!!

What a blessing it was to have Jack and Barbara Cottrell present with us for B.I.G. Sunday, 2016. We had the solid attendance of 131. Participation in worship was good and the preaching/teaching of Jack Cottrell was outstanding. All of which was followed by a great carry-in meal. Our thanks is given to everyone who helped prepare and make this years B.I.G. Sunday the success that it was. All praise and honor be given to our Lord both now and forever!!!
