An Epistle from Paul:NOT FOR SALE! – A little guy came to the Washington Monument and noticed a guard standing nearby. The boy looked up at the guard and said, “I want to buy it.” The guard stooped down and said, “How much do you have?” The boy reached into his pocket and pulled out a quarter. The guard said, “That’s not enough.” The boy replied, “I thought you might say that.” He then reached into his pocket and pulled out nine cents more. The

guard looked at the little guy and said, “You need to understand three things. First, thirty-four cents is not enough. In fact, thirty-four million dollars is not enough to buy the Washington Monument. Second, the Washington Monument is not for sale, And thirdly, if you are an American citizen, the Washington Monument already belongs to you!”

Let me use the above to reiterate another Biblical principle. First, we are saved BY GRACE alone and like the Washington Monument, GRACE cannot be bought!. There’s not enough precious metals/stones on the face of the earth to buy God’s Grace. How we need to get straight in our thinking that the very idea of earning or buying the GRACE of God nullifies such to the core! Grace is a gift and if a gift is bought and/or earned it ceases to be GRACE (Romans 11:6). Secondly, GRACE is not for sale. Here again, we need to get straight that GRACE is conceived and sustained by God. Man in his wildest dreams could not think up something so marvelous as GRACE. Thirdly, if you have already accepted this gift of GRACE on God’s terms… this gift is already yours! Live now a solid, grace responsive life unto His glory!!!
