Meaning of a paragraph.
A paragraph is made of a group of sentences. It is a compact one. It is complete in itself. It does not deal with details.
Difference between an essay & a paragraph
A paragraph is not a substitute for an essay.
In fact a paragraph forms a part of an essay.
A paragraph deals with one idea & not more than one like an essay.
Unlike an essay it has a limited scope.
It is important to specify the topic you are intending to tackle. Just start jotting down notes that have tight connection with your topic.
Before writing a Paragraph.
Mistakes and word-order are to be overlooked momentarily. After you gathered the data necessary for your topic the next step is to be taken.
A typical expository paragraph starts with a controlling idea or claim, which it then explains, develops, or supports with evidence.
Starting of a Paragraph
A topic sentence is a sentence whose main idea or claim controls the rest of the paragraph; the body of a paragraph explains, develops or supports with evidence the topic sentence's main idea or claim. The topic sentence is usually the first sentence of a paragraph, but not necessarily.
