Need of the hour
Major scope NCPL :
• Site (Building) acquisition services, acquiring the rights to deploy on site.
• Radio coverage and capacity plan
• Backhaul Management
• Site survey and installation planning for deploying the small cells solution
• Physical deployment of SC , Aggregation switch, Edge switch, AP-Controller etc and all cabling work as per the site survey
• Commissioning & Integration
• Supply of Materials/products indicated in the BOM as required
• Construction/Civil works as required
• Managed services of infrastructure at site
Operator :
• Planning guidelines ,issue of Active Hardware –APs and Sw & Controllers, parameter ,radio Tools and optimization support and end customer services.

Acquisition
Key Aspects are agreements with building owner including:
• Negotiate financial terms and facilitate commercial lease contract closure
• Sharing building infrastructure for AP installations - Telecom rooms, cable routes, risers, electrical closets, a/c power etc
• Feasibility for IT infrastructure sharing for backhaul
• Agree on timelines and working hours for deployments
• Security & access clearances for deployment teams
• Access to building floor layout and cabling drawings
• Clearance for AP mounting in public areas of the building
• Camouflaging needs if any
• Product / material storage facilities - on-site
• Identify any ‘no go’ areas for AP installation
• Any other special needs
Design Scope
A) Preparation and information gathering Collect information about the building:
• Floors layouts.
• Information on aesthetic constraints.
• Any cable crossing constraints if any
• Customer requirements in terms of coverage and traffic.
• Exact description of strategic places to be covered B) Site survey:
• better understanding of the building layouts in order to identify possible places for Small Cells positions and to perform indoor digital measurements.
• Customer interaction and finalizing there options for Small cells location space and cabling route.
• Location for mounting switches and controllers, Power management , Cat 6 cabling /fiber backbone route etc
c) Design Scope
• Use IB Wave Planning tool for designing of small cell network
• Use the designing criteria and rules provided by the Operators .
• Submit and fine tuning of final design-An interactive process
• BOQ outcome: number of APs per floor, CAT 6 cable length, Fiber , POE etc
• Using a defined set of rules which are pre-agreed between all parties to plan the radio coverage & capacity requirements for the site based upon customer requirements.
• Providing a report showing covered areas in picture and tabulated format, location of AP’s and other equipment & cables Full BOM as an output of a proper radio planning exercise. Architecture diagrams Backhaul capacity dimensioning in alignment with agreed rules
D) Simulation : • Use Transmitter at possible small cell location and conduct signal measurement in case of
floor area is large and complex
Deployment
• Follow the guidelines by operators for AP SC per Floor
• The AP to be wired to the floor level switch located in the wiring closet through CAT6 cabling
• The AP will get the power through PoE++ installed next to the floor level switch
• Average CAT6 cable length per AP/ SC < 60 m
•

• Backbone cabling
Typical layout
Switch + POE++
FZ Controller
Backhaul cabling: •Horizontal runs in a floor is CAT6/7a/CPRI and power cable •Vertical runs between switch’s is fiber optic
Deployment tasks: 1. Availability of all installation materials at the installation site 2. Site preparations for installation work 3. Install the SC per floor as per the survey report 4. Install the Wall mount cabinet for switch & PoE in every floor 5. Install the Switch, PoE++ & Patch Panel in the wall mount
cabinet 6. Connect all jSwitch cables between Switch, PoE & Patch Panel 7. Install the CAT6 cable between Patch Panel and face plate near
Small Cell including the installation of faceplate. 8. Connect the Switch cable from face plate to Small Cell 9. Install all cablings, patch panels as per site survey report. 10. Perform power on and perform basic tests 11. Install the19” rack for Controller and Edge switch 12. Install the Edge switch and SC-Controller 13. Reporting the installation progress 14. Prepare the installation part of the As-Built documentation
Commissioning and Integration
Commission and integrate the system into operators operational systems & check for basic operation
1. To confirm with operations team equipment is ready for integration
2. To load, or monitor the remote loading of configuration data
3. To support integration activities under the direction of the operations team
4. Perform walk test to check operation of cells and intra and inter cell handovers using test mobiles
5. Update & complete handover pack for Operators records
