The agricultural performances of Ivory Coast were obtained through an important material andtechnical support of the State for the agricultural sectors across various institutions of support-advicewhich have succeeded one another since 1958
The agricultural Council has experienced several developments marked by the creation of severalstructures for development and implementation of several approaches:
- agricultural assistance from 1958 to 1965;- the sectoral supervision from 1965 to 1993;- the unified and versatile agricultural extension from 1993

This mission is to:promote the professionalism of agricultural producers (farmers, stockbreeders andforesters);
improve the quality of agricultural products, the agricultural productivity and incomesof agricultural producers; ;•promotion of the agricultural cooperatives and of producers' associations;•accomplish studies of agricultural plans and answer efficiently at the request of theclients•recommend authorities on questions linked to the promotion of the rural world:training, credit, research and development, rural developments, land security, etc.
ANADER fulfills a public service mission on the basis of a license from thestate.
However, the limited company status allows it to provide private services inCôte d'Ivoire and elsewhere in Africa
To ensure effective agricultural advice, the Agency maintains close linkswith research, through a participatory mechanism for research anddevelopment that combines research, extension and farmers.
This mechanism enables the Agency to access technical and technologicalknowledge to be transferred to the actors of the agricultural sector.
The intervention device covers the entire Ivorian territory with:
- a headquarters in Abidjan-7 regional Directions- 57 Development Zones- 800 extension centres provided (1200 planned)
