AMWCY & EducationEducation is our major concern, since we have been deprived of it. In 2010, 192 237, have learned more thanks to our movements. So we have been taking some serious actions to help our members and supporters in terms of education.

-We listen to each child in grassroots level to see what does he or she want to do. If she/he is young enough, we encourage him to go to school.

- As for the elders, we encourage them to learn a trade, and to “learn how to read and right”, one of our 12 basic rights, attending evening classes organized by wcys.

We sensitize our supporters and parents about the importance and usefulness of education, we sometimes start schools were there aren’t.

AMWCY and ProtectionThe first protection for children deprived of rights in African countries is ORGANISATION and SOLIDARITYWe count more than 210 000 children protected within or near the AMWCY, and we would like to count many more.

We got to know that violence against children is also one of the major causes that block children not to become educated.

Over hitting child till injured, over punishments, school courtism, sex transaction for money to survive or to get better grades, wrong traditional believes... Are different forms of violence at school.

-It delays children from using their talent; (i.e. it destroys talent of children).

- It might lead to rebellion or rejection of the school.

- It may result to serious health effects such as the transmissions of sexual infections.

OUR MAIN ACTIONS

We give contacts of our members in the cities to those who want go out to the cities for more educations

We organize evening classes for those who want to read and write

We give financial help to those are eager to read and write (thanks to our income generating activities)

Put those whose want to learn a trade to apprenticeship

Train children on self sustainable activities

We organize sessions or even seminars for the parent in such a way to sensitized them; telling them the risks of violating child and what it result to

Collaborate with the masters of the apprentice to give them rest in order to learn, and even to have first aid box in their shop in case if any child can receive the first aid before attention of the doctors

Some ProposalsAdd to schools socio cultural clubs, an extension of their activities, to go against sexual abuses, over hitting of child to injure and over harsh punishments.

Reinforce our mode of creating awareness by printing big banners talking about violence against children both in school and at home.

Organize radio and TV programs with children participation, sharing their experience about Violence against child, and telling the public the effect

Having several tight collaborations with the Authorities to build free educational schools; especially in those places full of helpless children.

Have a serious training for the teachers about child Violence; because teachers take hitting children as mode of discipline the same thing applicable to the parent.

Setup a penalty for any teachers that practice sexual abuses and injures children.
