Page 2: AMR Regional Air Force Review

AMR’s Regional Air ForceDirectory of the various airforces, naval air arms andarmy aviation assets acrossthe Asia-Pacific Region

returns in our first issue of 2011, which coin-cidently is also our eleventh issue of theDirectory. The Asia-Pacific Region hasfound itself recovering quickly from the eco-nomic damage of the past few years. New –notably China’s J-20 and upgraded aircrafthave continued to be acquired and devel-oped across the services, enhancing tacticalmobility, improving air superiority capabil-ities and enabling advanced ElectronicWarfare and Intelligence Surveillance andReconnaissance missions. As before, the Directory has been com-

piled from a range of open sources fromaround the world, AMR’s correspondentsand discussions with industry and militarypersonnel throughout the year. AMRwould like to thank those who havescratched their heads and providedanswers to our questions. To claim absoluteaccuracy in this endeavour when for exam-ple trying to gauge serviceability levels onNorth Korea’s aircraft would invite hubrison our part. We would therefore like toencourage readers over the next twelvemonths who can add information to eithercontact us in person at the year’s shows andexhibitions or by e-mail.
