W h a t A M O R C Is H ot

Th e A M O RC is not a religious organizationnor a body of students devoted exclusively to thestudy of ancient or modern sacred writings. Itsteachings embrace the great spiritual truths of all times, and include the application of thesetruths to the practical affairs of our daily lives.

The AMORC is not a f ra ternal or mutual be nef it society in th e usu al se ns e, sinc e it doesnot operate any plan for the relief or sufferingthro ug h financial benefits. It offers, instead of this, a means for the prevention of unnecessarysuffering, and a practical method for the alle-viation of those tests and trials, and such dis-

comforts as result from a lack of knowledge of natural and spiritual laws, or the violation of princi ple s w hich affect th e spir itual, m enta l, an d phys ical bo dies of man .

The A M OR C movement has naught to do withthe fantastic speculations of necromancy, fortunetelling, hypnotism, animal magnetism, or similar pr ac tice s, usu al ly called occu lt or mys tica l. Itdoes, however, reveal and teach the advantagesaccruing through the development of the intuitionand the spiritual perceptive faculties wherebyman may become cognizant of the present con-ditions which surround him, and the possibilitiesthat lie in his immediate future.

The AMORC movement is not associated withany communistic or radical program of a politicalor social nature, and insists that its membersuphold the moral and ethical standards of thecountry with the same enthusiasm as they upholdthe moral and ethical standards of their personallives. Th e organ ization has no world leader, nofounder or discoverer of the teachings, to whom

pe rs ona l al legian ce must be paid , or to whomobedience must be promised as to a spiritualhead or spiritual leader demanding unquestioneddevotion.

The teachings, doctrines, practices, and recom-mendations included in the work and instructionof the organization do not represent the personalopinion or promulgations of any individual, butof a group of master minds representing evervrace and class of people in many ages, and in-

cluding the minds of the progressive men andwomen in the most advanced countries of theworld today . Th e teachings and doctrines arenot inven tions or “d iscovered” principles, butrevealed truths reduced by demonstration andtest to the utmost simplicity in expression andapplication.

N eit her is it a fo ru m o r club fo r th e pro m ul-gation of the teachings of other schools or move-ments regardless of their nature. Th e A M OR C

is not a reform organization in any sense sinceit does not attempt to regulate or control the per so nal af fa irs o f an y of its mem bers . T hro ughits teachings it reveals that which is right, proper,Cosmically correct, and spiritually true. It en-ables its members and students to discover for themselves the fallacy of beliefs which are un-sound, and the results of living in violation of spiritual and natural laws. T hrou gh the actualtest and application of its simple, yet profound princip le s, it en ables ev ery man and wom anquickly to discover in what sense and to whatdegree he or she may be living in non con-formity with the higher laws, and defeating hisown aspirations and desires in their normal pro-cesses of expression.

Th e A M O R C is not a secret society in thesense that it operates in secrecy, carries on itswork through secret channels, or maintains itsteachings in absolute secrecy against all publicand general application of these things for thegood of those who are not members. Rathe r,the organization attempts to spread its work pub licly th ro ugh ev ery public channel an d hassucceeded in having its principles and its teach-ings broadcast through the first broadcasting

stations in America that ever presented nonsectarian, philosophical, spiritual truths; andthrough nation wide newspaper and magazinearticles and public lectures of every conceivablekind.

The AMORC is not a commercial organizat ionin any sense, since its activities are carried onthrough a number of humanitarian channels with-out ostentation or even public recognition. It isincorporated and chartered in America as a col-lege, a university, and a fraternal organization on a no n pro fit basis. It does no t enforce the purc has e o f bo oks o r th e purc has e of an y co ursesof study, but gives freely to its members theuniform course of instruction restricted exclu-sively to those who are affiliated with the organi-

zation to carry on its ideals and purposes. The highest officers and national representa-

t ives throughout the country are men and womenwell known in business, social, and ethical acti-vities, devoting of their time and income to the

pro m ulg ation o f th e w ork w it h o u t an y disg uisein name or purpose.

Th e A M OR C in Am erica, as in other lands, has not been associated with any unethical prac-tices, and has, therefore, never had any of the

unsavory notoriety or public criticism that isusually associated with occult, mystical, or secretsocieties. It has, in fact, been praised in theliterature of the greatest of writers, includingSir Francis Bacon, Lord Bulwer Lytton, andhundreds of l ike name and character.

What the A M O R C Promises Ton

Since the A M O R C in all lands has as its pr in -cipal purpose th e advancement of man in his

on its part to instruct and guide each in the b ett er an d hig her met ho ds o f livi ng so as toattain a greater degree of success, happiness, andhealth.

The success of the organization depends uponthe success and abundant happiness and pros-

p eri ty o f its mem be rs. It s goal is an in crea singnumber of men and women in every communitywho seek to enjoy, to the fullest extent, the

Th e A M O RC also promises that if the care-

fully prepared instructions are followed, eachmember will become enlightened to such an ex-tent that his or her viewpoint of life will become

bro ad en ed , more to le ra n t, an d mor e famili ar withth e actualities and realities of life, leaving noroom for superstitious beliefs and their subtlyharmful effects. The teachings reveal man in histrue ontological relationship with the Cosmos andhis spiritual association with the God Conscious-ness and Divine Mind within him. They likewise

reveal man's association to man in the true b ro th er h oo d an d sp ir itual sign ifican ce , an d m an ’sinherited mastership over the natural laws, whichGod intended should serve man rather than en-slave him.

The metaphysical principles of life are pre-sented so interestingly and so comprehensivelythat without memorizing or without actual studyeach member of the organization is enabled to pro ve th e ph ys ical an d m en ta l co ndit io n of his being , an d p re ven t, as well as al levi ate, th e physical sufferings and ills which usually deter man’s

carefully explained so that each student member may demonstrate for himself, and to others, the
