Amoozemeter Field Demonstration for Determining Landfill Clay Liner Hydraulic Conductivity
• LANDFILL LINER REQUIREMENTS:
• A MINIMUM OF THREE FEET IN THICKNESS, AND
• SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED/COMPACTED WITH SOILS WITH A MAXIMUM HYDRAULIC CONDUCTIVITY OF 1 X 10-7 CM/SEC

• The Amoozemeter can be used to measure silty/sandy soils situated within the geologic buffer zone in certain areas of Tennessee where the anticipated hydraulic conductivity exceeds 1 x 10-6 cm/sec
• Hydraulic head is not significant enough to measure below 1 x 10-6 cm/sec
• The constant head provided by the Amoozemeter was the intriguing aspect of the test that triggered this experiment
