Daiwa introduces new J-Braid™ line to complement their already popular Samurai™ braided line. J-Braid line™ is a complete line up of high quality 8 carrier braid made of the finest materials from Japan. The 8 strands of tightly woven fibers helps make it have a perfectly round profile. This results in a much stronger, softer and smoother line that is more sensitive and farther casting.

J-Braid™ comes in three colors Dark Green, Chartreuse and Multi-Color. Dark Green is more natural in situations where

you may want to tie your hook or lure directly onto your line without a leader. Chartreuse line is highly visible and this helps detect even the slightest line movement. Multi-color is for deep drop fishing. Color changes every 10 meters for easy depth indication, line movement and quick programing into Dendoh reel memory for maximum readout accuracy. Available in 165 yd., 330 yd. and 1650 yd. spools in a variety of line sizes.

Features:• Made in Japan• 8 strands of tightly woven fibers• Stronger, softer and smoother• Three colors (Dark Green, Chartreuse and Multi-color)

For those of us here on the west coast seeing Team Daiwa Pro Cody Meyer near the top of the FLW Angler of the Year stand-ings is no surprise. The now 32 year old FLW Tour angler was a dominate angler with American Bass for many years. The Au-burn, California based pro cut his teeth fishing Lake Oroville, Lake Shasta, Folsom Lake, and Clear Lake with ABA. Meyer wrapped up the 2014 FLW Tour as the runner-up for the Angler of the Year title, behind only Tennessee veteran pro Andy Morgan. Meyer is off to another great start in 2015 with a fourth place finish on Beaver Lake, Ar-kansas, and two other finishes in the money. Meyer’s consistency is unmatched, he’s finished in the top 10 an astounding 21 times in 79 events with FLW includ-ing three times in the $500,000 Forrest Wood Cup. “Growing up fishing ABA, and the other western circuits, really allowed me to learn how to fish tournaments. The skills

Daiwa Pro Cody Meyer relies on ABA Experience to SucceedI learned like time management, culling, pre-fishing, and focus-ing on five quality fish instead of numbers has really helped me on the national tour. Anglers that don’t put in their time at the team and regional pro event level are left to learn these necessary skills on the national level, and that can costly,” said Meyer. Meyer also believes in his equipment. Meyer explained, “It’s really important to have equip-ment you have confidence in and can rely on. I know with Daiwa products, rods and reels, I have

the best equipment on the water. I am fishing against many of the best anglers in the world and I need every advantage I can get. Daiwa rods and reels are sensi-tive, strong, light-weight, and ex-tremely comfortable to fish eight to ten hours a day.” Daiwa offers a wide range of products for anglers of all levels. Meyer says he uses products from the following Daiwa product lines on a daily bases, Lexa, Zillion, Steez, but mostly Tatula products.

“While the Daiwa Zillion and Steez products are incredible, I can fish all year with the Tatula and Lexa products and still know I have the right tools for the job,” said Meyer. The Daiwa Steez lineup is the most impressive rods and reels on the market. Steez rods are developed to be optimum quality in lightness, strength, and sensitiv-ity. Built with Super Volume Fiber (SVF) technology, which packs unidirectional graphite fiber into a denser form, with exact resin control for greater strength, lighter weight, and incredible sensitivity.

M e y e r s a i d , “ I ’ v e n e v e r s e e n a n y -t h i n g l i ke a S t e e z before, t h e y are in-credible and so

much fun to fish. They aren’t the most cost effective, but there is nothing better when it comes to fishing rods.” Steez reels also set the bar for frishing reels. Built with a super lightweight magnesium frame and side plate make the Steez reels the stealth fighters of bait cast-ing reels. Daiwa uses a 100 MM handle on the 7.1:1 and 7.9:1 gear ratio reels and a a carbon drag system with 13.2-pouds of drag max to give the reels maximum

torque strength. The free floating A7075 aluminum alloy spool starts faster and spins longer for longer more accurate casts. Included in the reel is a twelve bearing system including 11 ball bearings plus one roller bearing. Meyer said, “One of my favorite features of the Steez reels is the Magforce-Z Cast Control system. It really allows me to dial in my reel for casting super-light lures or casting into the wind.” One of the prod-uct lines Meyer is most impressed with is the Zillion line of reels. “The new Zil-lions are fantastic reels. They come with the TWS (T-Wing System) which offers better casting distance and accu-racy. It’s also easier on line providing less wear and tear on the line. They are crazy light and the new Xtra Hyper Speed 9.1:1 gear ration is incredible. I crank up 40 inches of line on every turn. That’s incredible,” said Meyer. Zillion reels also feature 10 ball bearings, plus one roller bearing and a large, lightweight 90mm power handle. Zillion reels com in in four gear rations from the aforementioned 9.1:1 down to 5.5:1. Meyer con-tinued, “Having four gear ratios really allows me to offer the bait with a better presentation with less focus on the turning of the handle. I like the 5.5:1 for some

swimbaits and deep cranking, and the 9.1:1 is great for flippin’, frogs, and topwater.” Meyer admits the majority of his Daiwa arsenal is made up of Tatula products. “The Tatula product is the first reel profes-sional grade product at a price almost every angler can afford. It’s the rod and reel combination that Randy Howell used to win

the Bassmaster Classic, and it’s the rod and reel a club angler can use to win his club event,” said Meyer.“ Tatula reels are packed with features including T-Wing System, lightweigh aluminum frames and side plates, a tournament grade

carbon drag, and the Magforce-Z cast. These are many of the same great features you find in Steez and Zillion products, but bundled in Tatula for a price around $150. “I truly could fish every tourna-ment for the rest of the year with Tatula products only, and I’d still know I have premium gear and an advantage over non-Daiwa product anglers,” said Meyer.

F rom h is early teen years to about 25 years of age Meyer spent many weekends fishing ABA, and other local events. He believes those years helped him learn the skills that make him one of the top anglers in the world. “I think those tour-naments were a key to my suc-cess. Learning how to make ad-justments and de-cisions on the fly is a big part of tour-nament fishing, and there is only one way to learn that – by fish-ing tournaments. I believe fishing against western anglers on west-ern waters really prepared me well

to come east and compete with the likes of Andy Morgan and David Dudley. I am glad I have Daiwa gear in my boat when I do.”

– LAKE PICACHOS – Mexico’s Newest and Hottest

Bass LakeLake Picachos near Mexico coast city of Mazatlan

Lake Picachos is Mexico’s newest and hottest bass lake! A real bass factory!!!

Lake Picachos is located approximately 30 miles northeast of the famous beach resort city of Mazatlán. The drive from the Mazatlán Airport to lake is just under 1 hour and the drive from the lake to 5-star El Cid Resorts, the first class hotel our anglers stay their last night, is only a short 45 minutes drive. This lake is by far the easiest and most accessible than all other lakes we’ve promoted and operated on…ever! The Picachos Dam construction started in 2006 on the Presidio River, which is the main river that feeds into Lake Picachos. Construction of the dam was completed in 2009. The lake is simply filthy with bass from 2 – 5 pounds! There are also MUCH larger bass in the lake with the lake record already being 12 pounds! Picachos is on the same level of other famous bass lakes when they first opened. Lakes such as Guerrero, Comedero and El Salto…all lakes that were famous for producing 100 – 200 bass per day in the 2 – 5 pound class. What makes Picachos rank slightly ahead of those lakes is that it already has some Florida strain bass that weigh in excess of 10 pounds…and of course it’s much easier to access. Picachos is very brushy and heavy with cover! This lake is a spinnerbait fisherman’s paradise! While most lures in the tackle bag will work at any given time, the lake will produce more and possibly bigger bass on spinnerbaits, lizards, Senkos, Flukes and shallow running crankbaits. Also, the topwater action in the morning and afternoons can be phenomenal. Pop-R’s and Super Spooks have been the big producers!

– EL SALTO – The Most Famous Bass

Fishing Lake in the World Mexico’s Lake El Salto is the most famous bass fishing lake in the world. This reputation has been due to the thousands of huge bass that have been caught and released back in to the lake by Americans. We built the very first lodge on the water at El Salto about 15 years ago and the fishing just keeps getting better!
