Purposes of the Act

• Rescue:– Assist those most hurt by the recession– Assist states with fiscal stress

• Recovery:– Preserve and create jobs– Increase economic activity

• Reinvestment:– Support development of new technology to promote

economy– Renew existing infrastructure
