The rise and fall of a Capuchin Monk in 17th century Madrid.

Abandoned as a baby on the steps of a monastery and raised in strict Capu-chin fashion, Ambrosio has become the most famous preacher in the country. While large crowds from all over the country come to hear his mesmerizing preaches, he’s also bitterly envied for his success by certain fellow monks.

Convinced of his virtue and righteousness, Brother Ambrosio thinks he is immune to temptation…

Until obscure events start terrorizing the monastery. Could they be connected to the unexpected arrival of Valerio, an apprentice monk who has the miracu-lous gift to relieve Ambrosio’s splitting headaches, and hides his disfigured face under a wax mask?

Adapted from Matthew Lewis’ eponymous cult classic Gothic novel.

tHe WOmAn in tHe FiFtHAmerican writer Tom Ricks arrives in Paris to be closer to his daughter Chloé, who recently moved there with her mother.

Completely broke, he accepts a job as a night guard for a local mob boss. Down in a basement, his only task is to push a button when a bell rings. The tranquility of the night, he hopes, will help him focus on a letter to his daughter.

Soon his days become more exciting than his nights when he starts a romance with Margit, a mysterious and elegant widow who sets strange rules to their meet-ings: she will only see him at her apartment, at 5pm sharp, twice a week. And he’s to ask no questions about her work, her past, her life…

As people suddenly start dying around Tom, he begins to believe that a dark force has entered his life, punishing anyone who has recently done him wrong.

When the police accuse him of murdering his neighbor, Tom tries to use his weekly visits to Margit’s apartment as an alibi, only to find out nobody has lived at this address for the past 15 years…

Gaspard and Marion are in love and enjoying summer in the south of France… until they stumble upon a lost cell phone. At first they decide to track down the owner… But the game takes a much darker turn when they find him dead, in a mysterious suicide ceremony. Next to him, lies a half unconscious girl, Audrey. With her enigmatic tattoo and her gothic looks, she soon lures Gaspard into Black Hole, a dan-gerously addictive video game. Gaspard discovers an obscure uni-verse, full of infinite possibilities.Creating an avatar who is miles away from him, he sets out on a

search for the beautiful but poisonous Sam, who attracts victims in the virtual world and seduces them to commit suicide in real life. Could Sam’s alter ego in the real world be Audrey? Could Gaspard be her next victim? He will have to creep further into Black Hole to find out the terrible truth.

After the sudden death of her husband, Dawn must face her own mourning yet still care for her four children. Her only daughter, 8-year-old Simone, seems to take the loss the hardest of all. Simone shares a special secret with her mother: her father whis-pers to her through the leaves of the magnificient tree next to their home. Convinced he’s come back to protect the family, Simone spends more and more time up in the tree, speaking with her father. Soon, Dawn herself becomes mesmerized by the tree’s com-manding presence. When Dawn becomes more intimate with George, her new

employer, the bond between mother and daughter is threatened. With branches infiltrating the house and roots destroying the foundations, the tree seems to be siding with Simone. Fearful the tree is in danger of being cut down, she protests by setting up house high up in the branches. But Dawn refuses to let the tree take control of her family…

When Miron’s beloved wife Tanya passes away, he asks his best friend Aist to help him say goodbye to her according to the rituals of the Merya culture, an ancient Finno-Ugric tribe from Lake Nero, a pictur-esque region in West-Central Russia. Although the Merya people assimi-lated into Russians in the 17th cen-tury, their myths and traditions live on in their descendants’ modern life. The two men set out on a road-trip thousands of miles across the boundless lands. With them, two small birds in a cage. Along the way, as is custom for the Meryas, Miron shares intimate mem-ories of his conjugal life.

But as they reach the banks of the sacred lake where they will forever part with the body, he realizes he wasn’t the only one in love with Tanya…

Explore the very concrete local solutions to the global ecologi-cal mess. What are the common points between the millions of landless workers of the plains of Brazil, a couple of microbiologists in France, the world’s biggest organic plantation in Ukraine and Vandana Shina’s experimental farms in India?Their struggle: a better soil quality and a wiser access to seeds.Their goals: agricultural self-suffi-ciency and a better use of limited resources.Multi-awarded filmmaker Coline Serreau, who started her career as a militant documentarist, returns to her grassroot tech-

niques. As she travels the world in search of the ones who respect the soil, she sheds a new light on the multiple initiatives that will allow everyone to answer the key question: “What can I do to save our planet?”

Anne (Juliette Binoche), journalist for ELLE in Paris, is researching an article about female student prostitution. Although these young women are naturally not keen on publicity, she persuades two students into talking to her: the provocative Alicja (Joanna Kulig), an ambi-tious economics student who left Poland to further her education; and the subtle Charlotte (Anaïs Demoustier), enroled in a Parisian business school, determined to leave her modest French countryside background behind. Where Anne is expecting misery and distress, she discovers freedom, pride, and empowerment. As Anne’s professional curiosity in the two liberated women becomes personal, she starts to question her own sexuality.
