Hargrave Yachts, originally known as the top yacht design firm in America under the direction of the legendary designer Jack Hargrave, played an

HARGRAVE 76 FLUSH DECK‘ANA C’

‘Ana C’ is hull no. 1 of Hargrave’s exciting new 76’ open bridge motor yacht series and was featured on the front cover of two American magazines when she was launched. The interior design incorporates a lot more usable space than one might expect in a yacht less than 80’ in length, and one Chicago based publisher who sea trialled the yacht proclaimed that he was comfortable using the word ‘mega yacht’ when describing the sheer volume of this yacht. The owners have three grown children and eight grandchildren so entertaining large groups of family members was at the top of their list. While they required a lot more interior and exterior volume on their new yacht than they could find on leading production built yachts, they still wanted the same crisp European styling and woodworking details they were used to on their previous 55’ Italian sport yacht. The floor plan arrangement for ‘Ana C’ highlights several exciting new design ideas suggested by the owners, like her hidden galley which disappears from sight when guests are seated in the main salon, and the handsome stand up bar which does double duty for food preparation and serving at mealtimes. In less than 80’ Hargrave’s design team managed to give them two formal dining areas, spacious full beam main salon, inside and outside access to the fly bridge, and four full owner and guest suites along with a comfortable crew cabin aft with separate access from the swim platform.

‘SeaVenture,’ a stylish Hargrave 101’ Sky Lounge motor yacht, has four large staterooms plus one Pullman berth that can comfortably accommodate nine guests. In addition to the full beam master suite, she offers a private VIP cabin forward with king sized berth accessed by a separate staircase. Entertaining large groups of family and friends was the key focus of ‘SeaVenture’s design. Cruising from Alaska to Mexico each year, she is built to handle large groups on the upper boat deck, with a dining table seating for ten, along with a large Jacuzzi tub that incorporates a walk up bar and four stools on the starboard side. On the port side she has a large gas barbecue grill, refrigerator, clear ice machine, and generous trash storage. The aft deck is spacious and seats ten for dinner. ‘Victoriano’ is the latest yacht to be launched in the Hargrave 101’ Raised Pilothouse series, but like her sister-ships, she is completely unique in her exterior design and profile. Inside, her European style main salon is furnished in gloss cherry wood and camphor burl. The salon layout, designed with contemporary angled cabinetry, provides an abundance of counter space and storage, while the 45 degree angles are mimicked in the main salon and dining ceiling soffits. Inside the ceiling soffits is a band of bevelled mirror giving the illusion of a much higher ceiling. Not that this Hargrave needs it however, as the ceiling height is over 7 foot. With two master staterooms, plus two additional staterooms, all of which have en-suite bathrooms, eight guests can be accommodated in real luxury. Outside, this yacht has a huge flybridge that quite simply has everything! Over the past two years, Hargrave’s new 101’ Raised Pilothouse series has proven to be immensely popular, with five individually customised yachts already built to this length. If you walk aboard the four yachts featured in this section you would easily see what it is that makes every Hargrave yacht ‘custom’. Each one boasts a different floorplan, different profile, different equipment package, and different interior decor that reflect the exact wishes of the owners. The latest yacht launched in this series is ‘Solo Tu’. Modelled after the traditional styling of J.B. Hargrave, this yacht has clean modern lines and a full-beam main salon layout with programmable baby grand player piano. With so many exciting features already included in the design of this Hargrave yacht, the owners were able to add as many personal touches as they desired to this gorgeous yacht. The yacht takes on a massive feel when you enter the main salon from the aft deck and the same can be said for her sky lounge which measures a whopping 40’ in length. Access to the cabin deck, main deck, and bridge deck is via a cleverly designed circular staircase. With five large staterooms, there is plenty of room for up to ten guests.
