Inpatient Rehab Units
focus on functional independence
Rehab Management in the IRF:
Therapy in your IRF requires team collaboration, patient education, and participation while focusing
on functional improvement in a medically complex patient population. We understand the importance
of the interdisciplinary process, delivering the required intensity of service and regulatory
requirements driving service delivery.
Focus on Quality Measurement and Outcomes:
• We work with our customer’s IRF nursing team to become fully integrated into our customer’s care
management process. We collaborate with physicians and care managers to manage utilization
and length of stay.
• The focus on quality measures and outcomes drives the need for therapists to participate in our
customer’s quality initiatives. Our therapists are involved in specific initiatives to drive clinical
outcomes, such as lift teams, fall prevention teams, and transport teams.
We partner with our customers to provide a specialized team with dedicated tools. IRFs serve
medically fragile patients who require an intense level of physical, occupational, and speech therapy
with the prevailing goal of returning to their community with the highest level of independence.
We have proven experience in the implementation, expansion, and enhancement of:
• Census development;
• Clinical programming;
• Improved FIM scores;
• Regulatory compliance;
• Operational management; and
• Patient scheduling strategies.
Skilled Nursing Units
meeting maximum individual needs
Rehab Management in Skilled Nursing:
EnduraCare partners with customers offering skilled nursing care as a part of the post-acute
continuum. We often see that therapy services, care coordination, and nursing are often fragmented.
We bring a strategic approach to the SNU, working in concert with the nursing and physician care
teams to align interests.
Commitment to Meeting Individual Patient Needs:
• We recognize the transition from home or hospital to a care facility can be difficult. Ensuring that
patients are engaged and that their care is coordinated well across settings is our primary focus.
• The RUG system is not based on patient diagnosis or discharge location, it is based on the
amount of time a therapist spends assisting a patient in meeting their individual goals. We train
therapists to understand this dynamic and work seamlessly with the nursing team to deliver
value-based care.
Optimize Business Results:
• Skilled nursing patients in the hospital environment are most often a higher acuity and medically
complex. Therapists working in this environment receive functional training that prepares them
to better serve the specific population and understand the service delivery requirements.
• Accurately assessing the care needs of patients upon admission assures they will be assigned
to the most appropriate level of care.
• Accurate coding of the ADL Index plays an important role with 5-Star Quality Measure scoring
and reimbursement.
• We offer a unique, web based software platform used to promote electronic
documentation, accuracy in billing and coding practices, tracking of the therapy
cap, utilization and service delivery management, and outcome reporting.

Outpatient Rehab
returned functional Capacity
Rehab Management in Outpatient:
Outpatient rehabilitation programs are a critical component to the continuum of care for any health system.
As the population continues to age, trends show an increased need for outpatient rehabilitation services.
At the same time, changing regulatory and compliance rules are bringing new pressure on the delivery of therapy.
These trends create challenges that make expert management more important than ever.
• Increased requirements for quality and transparency mean that outpatient rehabilitation departments
must optimize performance and produce supporting documentation and data.
• Well-run outpatient rehabilitation programs require specific expertise and skills to ensure the
department is running efficiently.
• The rehab department's success depends on growing the business
line and ensuring clinical outcomes that deliver value, improved
financial performance, increased market share, and (most importantly)
patient satisfaction.
Working with EnduraCare can help your hospital or physician
clinics position their organizations for success. We tailor our
partnerships to meet your unique needs, whether it be enhancing
your current campus outpatient department or developing
satellite clinics.
We provide the talent and expertise to grow and
expand your outpatient rehabilitation programs with:
• Referral development;
• Staffing/labor management;
• Specialty programming;
• Patient scheduling strategies; and
• Protocol development.
Does Your Outpatient Department Perform?
• Does your director have all of the support from the health system to
operate a successful outpatient department?

bottom line of your hospital?
• Does your outpatient department have a fully dedicated,
rehab-focused recruiter to fill costly openings?
• Do you have productivity standards for your outpatient program?
• How effective is your scheduling process in managing staff levels and
productivity?
• Does your team manage no-show/cancellation rates?
• Does your therapy team see new patients within 48 hours of the referral?
• Does the therapy team’s clinical documentation support its charges?
• Is your billing and collections process effective in maximizing
reimbursement?
• Is your director skilled in clinical treatment, program development,
staffing and productivity, compliance and regulatory monitoring,
financial, and operational management?
Inpatient Acute
promote patient mobility
Rehabilitation Management in Acute Care
The role of therapy in acute care is to facilitate patient movement through your hospital, easing patient
transition to the next care setting, and working to keep patients from readmitting unnecessarily. We strive to
accomplish these goals while also winning physician and nursing confidence in our service delivery.
We take an active role in supporting initiatives, such as the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare
Providers and Systems (HCAHPS), which help our hospital customers maintain market share and avoid losing
reimbursement. In today’s healthcare environment, safe, high-quality care is expected from hospitals.
The patient’s experience at the hospital may be what differentiates one hospital from another. We educate
our therapists about the HCAHPS survey and how they can assist our customers improve their scores.
Key Initiatives for Acute Care:
• Timeliness of initiating evaluations and
treatment.
• Reducing the patient’s length of stay.
• Physician satisfaction and confidence with
therapy service line.
• Enhanced patient experience with services.
• Transition from acute to post-acute care must
be accomplished effectively and efficiently.
Our therapists participate in the navigation of
patients by providing recommendations for
post-acute placement so that clinical and
financial outcomes are optimized.
EnduraCare
We recognize the important role therapy plays in expediting patient recovery and
any post-acute needs upon discharge. Inpatient acute therapy also is important
in maintaining excellent physician relationships and reputation in the community.
We serve to promote patient mobility and shorten their length of stay with:
• Clinical expertise of licensed therapists
• Protocol development
• Joint Camps
• Prompt evaluations
