Based on the literature from our journals, we hope to provide a platform for de-bate and better understanding in different aspects to facilitate the researchers and clinicians and bridge the gap between the domain of Health and soci-ety. Therefore, we establish the database with the support of eminent experts from the globe:

• AME Surgical Video Database (ASVIDE): Based on the excellent surgical videos published in our journals, we are building up a surgical video database named “ASVIDE” (www.asvide.com) as an online learning system. ASVIDE (AME Surgical Video Database) is a peer reviewed surgi-cal video database devoted to publishing the narrated videos provided by renowned surgeons. It is designed to be presented as a detailed "how to" multi-media manual for operative procedures, with an aim to benefit the readers in a streamline system and to record the authors’ outstanding surgical work. In the database, each author will have a personal page (as a research ID), under which all his surgical videos will be highlighted, like: http://www.asvide.com/collabo-rators/~tristan_yan.

• AME academic database: AME academic database (in Chinese: kysj.amegroups.com) is an Open Access platform featuring the academic communication and activities (workshops, semi-nars etc.) held by AME Publishing Company to facilitate the interaction between authors, reviewers, reader and editors and provide educational courses for young investigators. It entails keynote lecture videos provided by the well-known experts in different fields, themed issues and hundreds of exclusive articles.
