1.20 FEATURES AND SAFETY DEVICES
Load and Radius Indicating System for main, auxiliary and whip load blocks is included and installed in the operator’s cabin.
A load moment system is incorporated within the load indicating system for all ratings at all radii for the main, auxiliary and whip load blocks with automatic shutdown if an overload or over moment occurs.
High lift and low reach limit switches for main, auxiliary and whip load blocks will be provided.
Hook latches for sling guards for main, auxiliary and whip blocks are included. Boom will be equipped with limit switches for automatic shutdown for (high)
minimum radius and (low) horizontal position. Emergency stop switches will be provided in the machinery cab and operator’s
cabin to stop all crane functions automatically. Wind speed indicator will be provided with read-out meter in operator’s cabin. The boom, main, auxiliary, and whip drums will be fit ted with over speed limit
switches. All load hoist drums will be equipped with free wheeling capabilit ies via a bypass
control in the operator’s cabin. All boom and load hoist drum brakes will be spring set – air released. All boom and load hoist motor brakes will be spring set – electrically released. A slewing alarm bell and rotating warning light will be provided at the underside,
rear of the rotating machinery deck. The operator’s cabin will be heated and air conditioned with windshield wipers on
the forward windows and the roof window. The operator’s cabin will be equipped with tinted, safety glass windows and will
have window washing platforms on both sides. The operator’s cabin will be equipped with a VHF radio and a roof mounted,
steerable searchlight. The operator’s cabin will be equipped with one (1) and the machinery house
equipped with three (3) CO2 type, ABC rated fire extinguishers.
7873-1 Page 12 1.21 CERTIFICATES
Hydralift AmClyde will submit calculations and detail drawings to American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) for their review and approval.
Hydralift AmClyde further will have ABS as the third party inspection for the fabrication of the crane components.
Hydralift AmClyde will provide a load test procedure to ABS to use during load testing and will provide Field Consultants though out the Load Testing program. ABS is to witness Load Testing and to issue reports and Statement of Fact confirming crane design, fabrication and load testing. Load test to be performed by the erection contractor.
1.22 SPARE PARTS
A complete list of recommended spare parts will be available at the completion of the engineering phase, approximately two (2) months after order placement. It is recommended that three (3) percent of the crane price be budgeted for two (2) years spare parts. AmClyde certifies that all spare part components will be available for purchase for a minimum of seven (7) years after the crane delivery.
7873-1 Page 13 1.23 SURFACE PREPARATION AND PAINTING
