Terms  and  Conditions:  

BY   SUBMITTING   AN   APPLICATION   TO   AMC   2015/16   AND   CHECKING   THE   BOX,   THE   TEAM  MEMBER   SUBMITTING   THIS   APPLICATION   ATTESTS   THAT   HE/SHE   ACCEPTS   THE   FOLLOWING  TERMS   AND   CONDITIONS   (BOTH   ON   HIS/HER   BEHALF   AND   ON   BEHALF   OF   EACH   TEAM  MEMBER):    1. A  “contestant”  competing  in  AMC  2015/16  will  consist  of  teams  meeting  these  criteria:  

Ø Your  team  must  consist  of  at  least  two  (2)  and  no  more  than  six  (6)  people  Ø At  least  one  (1)  member  of  your  team  must  hold  a  passport  from  the  Pan-­‐Arab  Region  Ø All  members  of  your  team  must  be  over  the  age  of  eighteen  (18)  

2. The  mobile  app  submitted  by  your  team  can  relate  to  one  or  more  of  the  following  sectors:  Ø Entertainment  Ø Education  Ø Health  Ø Other    

3. Factors  that  may  be  considered  as  it  relates  to  your  entry  include:  Ø Does  the  mobile  solution  fill  a  void  in  the  market  place?  Ø How  effective  will  the  solution  be  in  filling  an  existing  gap  in  current  mobile  apps?  Ø Is  your  idea  /  start  up  commercially  sustainable?  Ø How  many  people  will  benefit  from  your  idea/start  up  and  in  what  regions?  

4. By  participating  in  this  competition,  you  agree  to  abide  by  the  guidelines  relating  to  any  visa,  travel,   accommodation   or   other   arrangements   made   for   you   in   the   event   of   travel.   For  example,  and  not  limited  to:  Ø If  you  qualify  to  the  Regional  Final,  then  only  TWO  (2)  team  members  can  be  nominated  

for  AMC  to  cover  travel  and  accommodation  for  Ø AMC  is  not  responsible  for  visa,  travel,  accommodation  or  other  of  family/friends  Ø You   are   responsible   for   your   own   visa   arrangements   to   the  MWC   in   Barcelona,   Spain  

should  you  qualify,  and   in  the   instance  this   is  not  organised  AMC  reserves  the  right  to  nominate  another  team.    

Ø AMC  will  cover  the  cost  of  one  (1)  team  member  to  MWC.  Ø AMC   is   NOT   responsible   for   flying   team  members   residing   outside   the  MENA   region.  

This  is  a  pan-­‐arab  competition,  flight  arrangements  are  only  within  the  region.    5. Your   team   should   not   have   received   more   than   One   Hundred   Thousand   US   Dollars  

($100,000  USD)   in  seed  funding   in  order  to  qualify   in  the  start  up  track.  AMC  reserves  the  right  to  request  clarification  from  the  team.  

6. Your  team  should  have  received  ZERO  funding  to  qualify  for  the  idea  track.    7. The   judging   panel   will   comprise   of   an   appropriate   balance   from   industry   leaders.   The  

judging  panel  decision  will  be  final  and  binding.  8. It  is  the  teams’  responsibility  to  submit  their  application  details  by  the  submission  deadline.  

All  teams  that  have  submitted  will  be  notified  if  they  have  been  qualified  or  not  to  continue  to  the  semi  finals/finals  round.  

9. AMC  reserves  the  right  to  disqualify  teams  not  following  guidelines.    10. Each   team   member   agrees   and   understands   that   their   entry   and   participation   in   AMC  

2015/16   gives   the   founders   and   their   agents,   representatives   and   contractors   permission  and  full  authority  to  use  their  name,  likeness,  and  photograph  in  connection  with  the  Arab  Mobile  App  Challenge.      

 

11. None  of   the   founders   claim  ownership   rights   in  or   title   to   intellectual  property  associated  with   your  mobile   app   entry.     However,   by   entering   the   Competition,   you   and   your   team  grant   and   give   the   founders,   agents   and   each   of   AMC   2015/16’s   sponsors,   hosts   and  partners  the  right  to  use,  refer  to,  describe,  photograph,  film,  and  publish  in  any  form  and  in  any   medium   (as   examples   only,   in   print,   websites,   social   media   networks,   television   and  signage)   information,   photographs,   likenesses,   diagrams,   data,   and   any  other  materials   or  information   relating   to   your  mobile   app   for   all   purposes   relating   to   the   Arab  Mobile   App  Challenge   and   the   advertising,   promotion   and   publicizing   of   AMC   2015/16.     This   grant   is  provided  without   further   notice,   approval,   or   authorization   from   you   or   compensation   to  you.    

12. The  founders,  agents  and  contractors  may  share  with  third  parties,  including  media  and  the  general   public,   and   place   into   the   public   domain,   the   name,   likeness,   data,   and   all   other  information  concerning  team  members  and  the  team’s  mobile  app  entry.    Teams  are  solely  responsible  for  legal  protection  of  their  mobile  app  entry  before  submitting  this  application,  including  as  it  relates  to  intellectual  property  rights.  

13. None   of   the   founders,   agents,   contractors   will   be   considered   in   violation   of   or   infringing  upon   any   trademark,   copyright,   patent   or   other   intellectual   property   licenses,   ownership  rights  or  interests  in  and  to  the  mobile  app  and  all  materials  and  information  submitted  to  AMC  2015/16  by  your,  your  team  members  or  your  representatives  at  any  time,  including  at  any  point  after  AMC  2015/16  has  concluded.  

14. Each   team   member   releases,   indemnifies   and   holds   harmless   the   founders,   agents   and  contractors,  and  their  directors,  employees,  contractors  and  affiliates,  as  well  as  all  partners,  hosts  and  sponsors  of  AMC  2015/16,  from  and  against  any  and  all  liability,  claims,  causes  of  action,  damages  and  judgments  resulting  from  or   in  connection  with  the  mobile  app  entry  submitted   by   you   or   participation   by   you   and   your   team   members   in   AMC   2015/16,  including   from   and   against   alleged   acts   of   wilful   or   other   negligence,   fraud,   intellectual  property  infringements,  omissions  or    misconduct,  unless  prohibited  by  law.  

15. Failure  to  meet  deadlines  or  miss  any  required  events  may  result  in  disqualification  of  your  team  and  your  team’s  mobile  app  entry.  

16. Employees  and  consultants  of  founders,  partners,  agents,  contractors  and  members  of  their  immediate  families  are  not  eligible  to  enter  AMC  2015/16.    

17. The  laws  of  the  UAE  apply  to  these  Terms  and  Conditions  and  all  aspects  of  AMC  2015/16.    In  case  of  disputes,  all  matters  will  be  resolved  by  arbitration,   to  be  conducted  by  one   (1)  arbitrator,   to   be   held   in   the   English   language,   with   the   arbitration   taking   place   in   Dubai,  UAE.

9- يحتفظ التحدي العربي للجوالل بحق إستبعاد الفرق التي ال تلتزم بالتعليمات.

10- تعطي المؤسسين 2015/2016للجوالل يوافق كلل عضو في الفريق ويدرك بأن مشاركته في التحدي العربي

وعمالئهم والممثلين والمتعاقدين اإلذن والسلطة الكاملة الستخدام اسمهم وصورتهم خاللل المشاركة بالتحدي العربي

لتطبيقات الجوالل.

11- ال يحق ألي من مؤسسي التحدي المطالبة بحقوق الملكية أو الملكية الفكرية لتطبيقكم. ولكن من خاللل

. هذا المنح يتم من دون إشعار أو موافقة أو تفويض مسبق منك وبدون أي 2015/2016للتحدي العربي للجوالل

12- يحق لمؤسسي التحدي والعمالء والمتعاقدين المرتبطين بالتحدي أن يستعرضوا أمام أطراف أخرى، بما في

من قبلك، أو من قبلل 2015/2016بتطبيق الجوالل وكلل المواد والبيانات التي تُقدم الى التحدي العربي للجوالل

. 2015/2016التحدي العربي للجوالل أعضاء فريقك، أو ممثلين لك في أي وقت كان، حتى بعد اختتام

14- على كلل عضو فريق إعفاء وتعويض وتبرئة ذمة مؤسسي التحدي والعمالء والمقاولين ومدرائهم وموظفيهم

ومتعاقديهم والشركات التابعة، باإلضافة الى كلل شركاء والشركات الراعية ومضيفي التحدي العربي للجوالل

و أضرار أو أحكام ناتجة عن أو ، من وإزاء أي وكلل مسؤولية أو مطالبة أو سبب إلقامة دعوى أ2015/2016

17- تُطبق قوانين اإلمارات العربية المتحدة على هذه الشروط واألحكام وعلى كلل الجوانب المتعلقة بالتحدي
