Being Present With God

No Favorites What is the scope of the Father’s love for

His one and only Son, Jesus? The Father’s love for His Son is infinite –

without limits! The Father’s love for His Son is eternal –

without end – Malachi 3:6, Romans 8:29, Romans 8:38-39!


God’s love for us will not cease because of changes in us!

Malachi 3:6 (NASB)6 “For I, the LORD, do not change;

therefore you, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed.

The change is not our conformity to sin but our conformity to the image

of His Son!

Romans 8:29 (NASB)29 For those whom He foreknew, He also

predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren;

The consequence of this conformity is that nothing can separate us from God’s love!

Romans 8:38-39 (NASB)38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor

life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,

39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The Father’s love for His Son is perfect – complete and without fault – Romans 8:28!


The consequence of a perfect love is a perfect outlook, God’s perspective

in this life!

Romans 8:28 (NASB)28 And we know that God causes all things

to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

No Favorites Does God really love us like He loves His

one and only Son? Of course He does! The proof of this is Calvary!

It was a gift – John 3:16.


A Gift

John 3:16 (NASB)16 “For God so loved the world, that He

gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

A Proven Gift

Galatians 2:20 (NASB)20 I have been crucified with Christ; and it

is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me



It was a gift – John 3:16. It was a proven gift – Galatians 2:20. It was a permanent, proven gift – 1 John 4:10.


A Permanent, Proven Gift

1 John 4:10 (NASB)10 In this is love, not that we loved God,

but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

A Perfect, Permanent, Proven Gift

Romans 5:8 (NASB)8 But God demonstrates His own love

toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

This love gives us great security – 1 John 4:17-18!


1 John 4:17-18 (NASB)17 By this, love is perfected with us, so that

we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, so also are we in this world.

18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love.


This love gives us great security – 1 John 4:17-18! We no longer face condemnation just as Jesus

faces no condemnation – Romans 8:1!


Romans 8:1 (NASB)8 Therefore there is now no condemnation

for those who are in Christ Jesus.

faces no condemnation – Romans 8:1! We are free from guilt and shame and free to

the security of a loving God! This is not just a future freedom but a freedom

of the here and now! This love allows us to love others as God does!


Being Present With God Physical death for a believer is not a

tragedy but a triumph. Paul showed a willingness for this – 2 Cor. 5:8. Paul called it gain – Philippians 1:21. This even created indecision for Paul –

Philippians 1:23. Paul said nothing could separate us from this

triumphant love – Romans 8:35-39. Job spoke of this in confidence – Job 19:25-27.


Job 19:25-27 (NASB)25 “As for me, I know that my Redeemer

lives,And at the last He will take His stand on the earth.

26 “Even after my skin is destroyed,Yet from my flesh I shall see God;

27 Whom I myself shall behold,And whom my eyes will see and not another. My heart faints within me!

Being Present With God Jesus is so confident of where He will

again be that He speaks in the present. Jesus is there now! Jesus also says that this is where He

desires for us to be. This is the promise and the glory that

should fill our hearts and minds.


Being Present With God Not only will we be with Jesus but we will

also be like Jesus! We will be like Him in character – 1 John 3:2.


1 John 3:2 (NASB)2 Beloved, now we are children of God,

and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is.

We should be like Jesus NOW! For our purifying – 1 John 3:2-3


1 John 3:2-3 (NASB)2 Beloved, now we are children of God,

and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is.

3 And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.



We should be like Jesus NOW! For our purifying – 1 John 3:2-3 For the sake of the Gospel in God’s

Kingdom!
