BRIDGE COURSES

REPORT

SESSION 2018-19

Introduction

Bridge courses are the foundation classes organized for first year students in undergraduate.. The

main objective of the course is to bridge the gap between subjects studied at Pre-university level

and subjects they would be studying in Graduation. The syllabus for the course is framed in such

a way that they get basic knowledge on the concepts which are helpful during learning through

graduation.

Aim and objectives

To provide students the confidence and skills for successful transition to college and new

curriculum.

To act as a buffer for the new entrants.

To provide adequate time for the transition to hardcore courses.

A breather, to prepare themselves before courses for first year commence.

The students will be equipped with the knowledge and the confidence needed to take on

bigger challenges.

Interactive and Active Learning by Doing have been weaved into the Bridge Course.

Activity Report

One month free bridge course is organized by the college from 15th

May 2018-15th

June 2018 for

the +2 pass and graduate students in subjects of Basics of Computer and Spoken English. The

courseis inaugurated by S.Sangat Singh Longia, President, Management Committee,

S.Sukhwinder Singh Wisky, Manager, Management Committee, S. Jagminder Singh, Secretary

Management Committee, Principal S. Surmukh Singh and other committee member by

enlighting the lamp. Principal addressed the students about the benefits of these courses in

modern era. This course helps students from rural background to brush their academic

knowledge. Around 80 students are enrolled in above mentioned courses. They are benefitted

through lectures, power point presentations and laboratory works. Courses are concluded by

valedictory function on 15th

of June 2018 by distributing the certificates to the students who

successfully completed the courses.
