  • Welcome to AmaWaterways..................................................................................................................................................

When we founded AMAWATERWAYS ten years ago, our motivation was to provide the most exceptional river cruise experience. Our company has grown substantially and our commitment to excellence continues to thrive. AMAWATERWAYS leads the way in river cruising thanks to our fleet of customized ships, expansive amenities and personalized service. Our pioneering

features include offerings such as French balconies, complimentary in-stateroom Internet, WiFi access, award-winning dining plus guided bicycle tours. Our 3 newest ships extend these innovative concepts even further by offering larger staterooms with twin balconies, multiple dining venues and more. Exciting new itinerary highlights and theme cruises such as our Culinary Delights shore excursions and the Floriade Expo, which only occurs once every 10 years in the Netherlands, make 2012 the perfect year for river cruising.

Were extremely proud that our fleet of vessels has grown to twelve. New for 2012 is the

164-passenger MS AMACERTO, our largest and most imaginative ship. Inspired by classic luxury yachts, she features our exclusive twin balcony staterooms, multiple indoor and

outdoor dining venues, a heated swimming pool, a stunning glass elevator and much more. The MS AMACERTO joins an award-winning fleet in Europe that includes the MS AMAVERDE, MS AMABELLA, MS AMADOLCE, MS AMALYRA, MS AMADANTE, MS AMACELLO and MS AMALEGRO. For the first time, our beautiful MS AMADAGIO will cruise the Rhone River in Southern France, providing the signature experience our passengers have come to expect from an AMAWATERWAYS cruise. In Russia, the redesigned MS AMAKATARINA debuted in May 2011, with balconies in more than 70 percent of her staterooms. And the new MS AMALOTUS joined the elegant MS LA MARGUERITE in offering delightful Mekong River cruises as part of our Vietnam, Cambodia and the Riches of the Mekong program.

We continue to evolve the river cruising experience every year. Let us transport you to the heart of a destination, surrounded by a panorama of history. In Europe, discover the cultures of a dozen countries linked together from the North Sea to the Black Sea. Immerse yourself in a Provencal landscape

that inspired painters, poets and writers. Marvel at the monuments of Imperial Russia, or explore the ancient wonders of the Mekong. Our passion for providing distinctive and enriching river cruise vacations is stronger than ever.

We hope to welcome you aboard soon.

    Custom-Designed Ships..................................................................................................................................................

    A M A W AT E R WAY S . C O M | 7

Our priority in designing our innovative fleet of ships is to maximize the enjoyment, convenience and comfort of our guests. Thats why, in order to achieve a high staff-to-guest ratio and provide more attentive service, we limit guest capacity to no more than 164 in Europe. This enables us to offer a large array of world-class public facilities, such as lounges of different sizes, expansive dining rooms, fitness centers and spas, and also equates to a greater amount of personal space on board, in both public areas and in your stateroom or suite.

Whether you are relaxing in your luxurious balcony stateroom, enjoying the sauna in the fitness center, or reading a book in a quiet corner with a cup of tea, the experience is enhanced by the distinctive AMAWATERWAYS ship design. Our President, Rudi Schreiner, designs river cruise ships with upscale hotel-style amenities specifically directed at the North American market. His innovative vision continues to lead the industry, and has propelled the AMAWATERWAYS fleet to its current status: an award-winner earning accolades from the media, travel consultants and passengers like you. With our fleet of custom-designed ships in Europe the perfect river cruise experience is waiting for you with AMAWATERWAYS.

    River Cruise Experts..................................................................................................................................................

    A M A W AT E R WAY S . C O M | 9

Our company was founded in 2002 by Rudi Schreiner, Kristin Karst and Jimmy Murphy. All three brought tremendous experience, knowledge and dedication to the venture. A native of Vienna, Rudi was one of river cruisings pioneers, having introduced the modern-day river cruise concept to the market in 1994. Kristin contributed extensive sales and customer service experience, both in Europe and in North America. Jimmy Murphy is the founder of the tour operator Brendan Vacations. Their combined expertise and hands-on philosophy have created the most distinctive river cruise line in the business. At AMAWATERWAYS, the owner-operated style of management permeates every detail of our guests experience. We believe in short lines of communication, which is why you will always get a live person not an automated system answering the phone during our extensive business hours. Our highly trained, professional Cruise Managers are selected for their knowledge and expertise, and are with you from the moment you begin your river cruise and land vacation until you board your airport transfer for home.

Our luxurious fleet of new custom-designed river cruise ships, complimentary amenities, award-winning dining and enriching shore excursion programs are but a few features that set AMAWATERWAYS apart from the rest. Let the experts at AMAWATERWAYS transport you through Europe. Our expertise is yours to experience on the river cruise vacation of a lifetime.

When Im asked about river cruising people ask me why I prefer AmaWaterways. My an-swer is that they just do things better and take care of so many details that make the experi-ence amazing. Its a line I can put my full faith in to deliver the best experience possible.Kyle T. - Philadelphia, PA.............................................................................................................................

  • Introduction

Culinary Delights - Bites & Sights..................................................................................................................................................

New for 2012: our exclusive Culinary Delights Bites and Sights tours provide a delectable taste of Europe in select destinations. These specially-crafted guided walking tours are available in at least one destination on most European itineraries. Limited to no more than twenty guests, the complimentary tours present a delightful option for guests interested in Europe from a culinary perspective.

Tours vary by destination, but examples include visits to cooking schools during which passengers learn about regional specialties, and participate in preparing (and tasting) the dishes. Other excursions involve walks through neighborhoods, with stops at culinary specialty shops, chocolatiers and charcuteries and perhaps a bistro or biergarten.

At other ports, passengers will enjoy wine and champagne tastings, or traverse famous food districts to sample savory tapas in distinctive wine bars. Visits to colorful local markets are also on the menu. Knowledgeable guides with culinary backgrounds lead excursions to open-air markets brimming with fresh produce and hand-crafted delicacies. Passengers will sample platters of meats cured in the same traditional manner passed down for generations; taste fresh artisanal cheeses and mouthwatering pastries directly from local merchants. And special restaurant meals will highlight local traditions and culinary history. Our Culinary Delights Bites and Sights are sure to satisfy gastronomes, amateur foodies and every passenger with an appetite for a truly immersive European experience.

    A M A W AT E R WAY S . C O M | 1 9

We are extremely proud to be the only river cruise line inducted into La Chane des Rtisseurs, one of the worlds most prestigious culinary organizations. This society was founded in Paris in 1950 as a revival of the honored traditions of the royal guild of goose roasters chartered in the 13th century. The guild became so renowned that King Louis XII of France granted it its own coat of arms in the 17th century, consisting of two turning spits and four larding needles surrounded by hearth flames. The guild of roasters continued to thrive for four centuries, until the French Revolution brought an end to the guild system. The society was reborn in 1950 by prominent chefs and gastronomes as La Confrrie de la Chane des Rtisseurs. A new logo was created incorporating the historic coat-of-arms, surrounded by fleur-de-lis and two chains that encircle the foundation dates of 1248 and 1950.

Membership today is by invitation only, and is considered an achievement of world-class culinary acumen. The society has grown to include professional chefs, restaurateurs and hoteliers around the world. All of our ships in Europe are members of the Chane des Rtisseurs, and our culinary staff is united by a desire to share their expert knowledge of wine and fine dining with you.

    Complimentary Bicycles..................................................................................................................................................

    A M A W AT E R WAY S . C O M | 2 5

AMAWATERWAYS originated the concept of putting bicycles aboard river cruise ships in Europe. The idea sprung from the fact that so many of Europes rivers are lined with paths that are perfect for pedaling. Were the only river cruise line that carries more than two dozen bicycles and plenty of safety helmets that are free for you to use. The bicycles give you the freedom to venture out and explore the riverside bikeways. Or, meander through quaint cobblestone streets. The bikes are set up and ready for use as soon as the ship docks.

AMAWATERWAYS offers complimentary guided bicycle tours in many cities including Cologne, Cochem, Passau and Regensburg in Germany, Strasbourg in France, Belgrade, Serbia, as well as Edam, in the Netherlands. Let our guides lead you past picturesque farm houses, tulip fields and hillside vineyards, enjoying the ever-changing scenery. You can also bike along the Danube between historic Drnstein and Melk, Austria. Special headsets allow you to hear the guides commentary as you bike along, immersing yourself in Europes greatest scenery.

Whether you join one of our complimentary guided tours or decide to explore on your own, our user-friendly bicycles offer the ultimate in touring freedom.

The ability to see Europe up close and personal on a bicycle, not a tour bus, is really the best way to experience your cruise!Britt A. - Chicago, IL.............................................................................................................................
