Jam 'Eyyatul Qurra' Tamat Graduation 2020 1
Jam 'Eyyatul Qurra' Tamat 2020 1
Jam ‘Eyyatul Qurra’ Tamat Graduation 20202
I am extremely honored to write this forward as chairman of Jam Eyyatul Qurra as we emerge from our 50th year as a Quranic institution.
We thank Allah Almighty for placing us at JEQ and for granting us the Quran as our constitution and the Sunnah as our example of living, Allahu Akbar.
We acknowledge our founding fathers, Sheigh Yusuf Booley, Sheigh Moosa Goder and Imam Alie Gierdien, who guided by the Quran and Sunnah, provided us with an illuminated pathway and an illustrious legacy, which moves us and inspires us to unrelentingly serve JEQ.
On behalf of the Board and the entire fraternity of JEQ, I am elated to congratulate the Tamat Class of 2020 for an extraordinary achievement, Alghamdullilah. It has been no mean accomplishment given the extreme difficulties placed in the path of the education process by especially the Covid 19 dynamic. Graduating in 2020 is meaningful and special in that many additional hurdles were scaled for you to achieve your aim. Well done and Mabruk to you all!
I hereby pay tribute to our management, teachers, staff, parents and learners for their sterling work and efforts during the pandemic.
FOREWORD
Shreef AbbasChairman of the Board
Jam 'Eyyatul Qurra' Tamat Graduation 2020 3
Everyone made an effort to adapt to new teaching styles and methodologies required during the lockdown period. Management, teachers, parents and learners were simply magnificent in the way they collaborated, innovated and embraced the change to the Zoom classroom. The quest for Quranic Education was evidenced during 2020, through the display of determination and spirit by all parties involved in the education process. What was remarkable was that teaching, albeit through the Zoom medium, continued unabated to approximately 430 learners during the entire pandemic period – again a display of tremendous commitment.
To date JEQ has produced 244 certified Huffaath and Haafithaat, who have all received certificates, having been tested publically by doyens of the Quran. A JEQ Diploma is decidedly a ‘badge of honor’ and every graduate should be proud to be an associate of JEQ.
The graduations this year is held according to strict Covid 19 guidelines and protocols and will accommodate an online audience for the graduation proceedings, Insha Allah.
For those parents intending to enroll their children at JEQ in the preschool, preparatory or Hifth schools please contact us immediately at the numbers or email addresses provided in this brochure.
Once again congratulations to our graduates and may everyone be safe, peaceful and happy in the care of Allah Almighty during the holiday recess, Insha Allah, Ameen.

To the Graduating class of 2020
The day has come which completes your journey at Jam ‘Eyyatul Qurra’ and unfolds the dawn of a new journey Insha-Allah. You persevered through all the challenges you faced along the way, Alhamdulillah.
The five of you, beautiful young ladies, have truly been chosen by Allah and He has enabled you, by His grace, to show up and weather the countless storms. With the most beautiful of character and the brightest smiles, you lifted even the heaviest soul. With determination, tears and many duahs, you have finally reached the end of your journey.
We beseech the Almighty Allah to continue to guide and bless you for what you have memorized for the sake of your Rabb. May Allah swt make it bear witness for you and intercede on your behalf on that day when all people will be gathered.
As Allah so beautifully instructs us in Surah Yunus:
“Say, in the Bounty of Allah and His Mercy, in that let them rejoice, it is better than what they accumulate”
And what greater bounty and mercy can we experience, than what we are experiencing today.

We as proud educators and staff of JEQ wish each of you a heartfelt mabrook and are honoured to celebrate this joyous occasion with you.
Be proud of what you have accomplished and take pride in the heart that holds the highest Kalaam.
May the Quran always protect and guide you to make wise decisions that will benefit all of humanity Insha-Allah.

Assalaamu Alaykum [WRBT]
All praise and thanks are due to Allah for granting us the honour of memorising the Holy Quraan, Alhamdulillah.
There are many people we have to thank. The school, for granting us the opportunity to learn in a comfortable environment, for providing us with everything we needed to make it a most memorable journey. The teachers, for all their support, guidance, motivation and patience at every hurdle. Our Parents, family and friends, for their love, advice, moral support and constant, unwavering belief in us.
There have been many memorable moments throughout our journey. Surprising our parents by reciting our last lesson, reciting 5 Ajzaa in one sitting for the first time and consolidating the last of our weak work.
This year, in particular, was not easy. Due to the sudden pandemic, everything was made more complicated and completely
different. There was a lot we needed to adapt to. We were no longer able to be present in class. For six months, we had to recite online via Zoom and Whatsapp platforms. There was no interaction between ourselves and our teachers. But despite all those challenges, we made it through, Alhamdulillah.
A small piece of advice to those who are still on their journey. DO NOT NEGLECT YOUR DHOR. Listen, respect and trust in your teachers. Come prepared with your work. Always place your trust in Allah and keep your connection with Him strong by performing your five daily Salaahs on time. Keep yourself humble and grateful by always thanking Allah because only He can get you through this.
Remember, look after the Quraan and the Quraan will look after you.

As the year draws to a close, we feel privileged to have been part of a group of Hifth learners as dedicated as the graduates of 2020. Masha-Allah.
From the very beginning, it has been evident that we have taken on an enormous responsibility in ensuring that our Quran learners would strive in excellence, thus maintaining our legacy of achievements.
Although we feel the responsibility bestowed upon us by the Almighty, it is with great honour and humility that we embrace our cause, in order to develop well rounded young Hufaath.
However, we have had our “lions share” of the many challenges faced by many in our field of Quran teaching, we have nevertheless achieved what we have set out at the start of our journey, Alhamdulillah.
Suffice to say, this has afforded us as teachers and learners with profound new skills, thorough communication under extreme conditions contributed by the Global Pandemic and a profound sense of growth in perfecting our sense of patience and perseverance.
We must not forget to remember those Quranic icons who have sacrificed time, efforts and the like, so that we may reap these benefits in this humble but also grand accomplishment. May our past Hufaath and Ulama always be revered and stay in our sincerest prayers.

As Allah [SWT] mentions in our holy Quran,
“We have bestowed the Book on those of our servants whom We have chosen”. Surah Fatir verse 32.
May Allah [SWT] grant that all of you remain in the service of the preservation of the Quran, the footsteps of Rasoolullah [SAW] and our Deen that it encompasses.
The world awaits your excellence…...

All praise and thanks be to Allah [SWT]. Abundant salutations be upon His beloved messenger Nabi Muhammad [SAW].
Our journey at Jam ‘Eyyatul Qurra has been a unique and memorable one. On behalf of the 2020 JEQ Tamat class we would firstly like to thank Allah [SWT] for choosing us to memorise The Holy Quraan.
Secondly, we would like to sincerely thank all teachers who contributed to our wonderful journey, especially during the lockdown period. On a daily basis you would dedicate your precious time to listen to all of our lessons. May The Almighty grant you good health to continue serving The Holy Quraan for many years to come, Ameen
Most importantly, we would like to express our appreciation to our dearest parents. We wish to thank each of our mothers and fathers for the relentless efforts, kindness, patience, love, support and assistance you have portrayed throughout our journey. Our dearest parents, you play an instrumental role in our lives and on this journey of memorising The Holy Quraan, you have made countless sacrifices. You have guided us and continue to guide us. Whilst enduring all the challenges we faced and shared in our happiness, you remain our biggest supporters. We love you unconditionally. May each of our parents be greatly rewarded and May The Almighty grant you many years of good health filled with Ghayr and Barakah, Ameen.
In the duration of our journey, we faced many challenges and have learnt through our mistakes. We will aspire to uphold our teachings and guidance gained from our teachers, Insha-Allah.
