Detective Angela N ucci, being duly sworn upon oath, hereby makes application to this Court for a

warrant to search the Premises, hereinafter described, for the property and things hereinafter described.

Affiant knows the contents of this application and supporting affidavit, and the statements herein are

true of his/her own knowledge, save as to such as are herein stated on information and belief, and as to those, he/she believes them to be true.

Affiant has good reason to believe, and does believe, that the following described property and things, to wit:

-To process the crime scene which includes photographing, drawings, video recordings, and any other process needed to document the scene to include areas identified as Prince’s residence, Recording Studio, offices, and any other rooms contained within this address.

-Collect any documents that identify ownership, occupancy of the below listed address.

-Collect any and all documentation that may include or describe information on the deceased medical condition, treatments, medical history, prescriptions.

-Collect any and all illicit narcotics that could explain the cause of the decedent’s death.

-Collect any and all medications found within the address.

-Collect narcotic related paraphernalia, including scales, narcotic residues, syringes.

-Collect any notes, ledgers, receipts, prescriptions, and other documentation that could explain the source of any medications and/or illicit narcotics discovered in the premises.

The facts tending to establish the foregoing grounds for issuance of a search warrant are as follows:

Your Affiant, Detective Angela N ucci, has been employed by the Caver County Sheriff’s Office for approximately 3 years and is a licensed Peace Officer with the State of Minnesota. Detective Nucci is currently assigned to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Sheriff’ 5 Office.

As part of her assignment, Detective Nucci has received the following information:

On April 21, 2016 at approximately 0945hrs, Carver County Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to a medical where a person was found not breathing. At approximately 0948hrs, Deputy Adam Hastings arrived on scene and located the victim identified as Prince Rogers Nelson (DOB. 06/07/Jr97-817Pmflas found unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene. 2‘75?

@ Your Affiant was made aware by witnesses that were interviewed, that Prince recently had a history of going through withdrawals, which are believed to be the result of the abuse of prescription medication.

Further, Your Affiant received information from interviews conducted, that Prince’s assistants had arranged a

meeting between Prince and medical professionals to assess and address Prince’s medical concerns.

Because of the information received, and facts surrounding the unwitnessed death of Prince Rogers Nelson, Your Affiant requests the Courts permission to process the scene which includes taking photographs, making drawings, taking video recordings, and any other process needed to document the scene.

Your Affiant is also requesting the Courts permission to collect any and all documentation that may include or describe information on the deceased medical condition, treatments, medical history, and prescriptions. Also, to collect any and all prescription medications, illicit narcotics, narcotic related paraphernalia, including scales, narcotic residues, syringes, that could assist investigators in determining the cause of Prince Rogers Nelson’s death; and to also include notes, ledgers, receipts, and other documentation that could explain the source of any medications and/or illicit narcotics discovered in the premises.

WHEREFORE, Affiant requests a search warrant be issued, commanding Detective Angela Nucci, Detective Christina Wagner, Detective Pat Murphy, Detective Chris Nelson, Detective Sergeant Dewitt Meier , (a) peace officer(s), of the State of Minnesota, and all other personnel under your direction and control between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. only to search the hereinbefore described Premises, for the described property and things and to seize said property and things and keep said property and things in custody until the same be dealt with according to law.
