Minecraft serversMinecraft servers allow players to play online with other people. They may either be run on a hosted Minecraft server service, a dedicated server, a Virtual Private Server or a home machine.

Multiple archetypes of Minecraft servers exist, distinguished by the unique gameplay features, rules, and societal structures which they implement. No two servers are the same, and fre-quently the line between archetypes is blurred or indistinguish-

infomation about minecraft Minecraft is a sandbox construction game created by Mojang AB founder Markus Persson, and inspired by the Inniminer, Dwarf Fortress and Dungeon Keeper games. Gameplay involves play-ers interacting with the game world by placing and breaking various types of blocks in a three-di-mensional environment. In this environment, players can build creative structures, creations, and artwork on multiplayer servers and singleplayer worlds across multiple game modes. Minecraft is available to all players for €19.95 (US$26.95, £17.95). When pur-chased, singleplayer and multiplayer game modes can be played using the downloadable stand-alone launcher. Minecraft Classic is available to play for free. Minecraft development started around May 10, 2009, and pre-orders for the full game started being accepted on June 13, 2009. Minecraft's ocial release date was November 18, 2011. On April 5, 2013, Minecraft for the computer reached 10 million sales. On August 16, 2011, Minecraft: Pocket Edition was released for the Sony Xperia Play gaming smartphone. After its exclusivity with Sony expired, it was released for Android devices on October 7, 2011, and iOS devices on November 17, 2011 for US$6.99. On April 2, 2014, Minecraft was released for the Amazon Fire TV. It contains all the same features as the Pocket Edition, however it has support for the Fire TV's controller. On May 9, 2012, Minecraft was released for the Xbox 360 on Xbox Live Arcade for US$20, where it subsequently broke every previous sales record.

On February 11, 2013, Minecraft: Pi Edition was released for the Raspberry Pi. It is based on the Pocket Edition and is available for free at Mojang's dedicated blog. The Pi Edition is intend-ed as an educational tool for novice programmers and users are encouraged to open and change the game's code using its API.

On December 17, 2013, Minecraft was released for the PlayStation 3 on the PlayStation Store for US$19.99. The release was almost identical to the Xbox 360 Edition and was developed in tandem with the Xbox 360 Edition from then on

Mobs are living, moving game entities. Generally, mobs are aected by the environment in the same ways as the player: they are subject to physics, and they can be hurt by almost all the same things that harm the player: Catching on re, falling, drowning or suocating, and of course being

attacked with weapons. However, some types have individual resistances or immuni-ties: For example, Nether mobs are immune to re, several mobs do not take

fall damage, and some have a natural armor rating that protects them against attacks. Mobs can ride minecarts and other mobs, which is a

possible way to move them around for special purposes. When mobs are killed, they drop items which may be useful resources.

Mobs come to exist by spawning in various ways. Players can spawn most mobs using spawn eggs in creative mode. Most

mobs are aware of players within 16 blocks of them, but some can see further.[1] Their individual abilities are discussed below and on their individual pages. The term mob is short for mobile[2] and has been used as a general term referring to any moving entities in games since the rst MUDs sur-face.

Passive mobs will never attack the player. The farm animals; chickens, cows, pigs, and sheep spawn with the landscape, but

occasionally spawn on well-lit grass, and can be bred by the player. Horses spawn in Plains and Savanna biomes, and can be

tamed like Ocelots and Wolves. Mooshrooms spawn and act similar-ly to cows, but only spawn in mushroom island biomes. Ocelots only

spawn in jungle biomes above the Y level of 63, and can also be tamed. Squids need water to spawn in, while bats spawn in darkness similarly to the

hostile mobs. Villagers spawn with their village, but only breed on their own initia-tive when their village population is too low.

Neutral mobs will not attack the player unless provoked. The act of provoking neutral mobs varies. The zombie pigman is hostile only in the Pocket Edition. Note that spiders and cave spiders will spawn hostile due to the fact they spawn in light levels of 7 or below, but are actually neutral mobs, as they are neutral in light levels of 12 or higher, unless hit.

minecraft skinsA skin refers to the texture that is placed onto a player model or mob. The skin is divided into areas that act as the surface area of the character (For example, there's the front head area, left leg area, etc.). A skin will only allow solid color; transparency is not allowed on the skin le except on the second head area, which is transparent by default; play-ing oine, pixels can be left free resulting in "holes" in the skin. The second head layer can be used to give the character glasses, hats, or other accessories (even a bigger head).

A skin can also refer to other textures in the game, such as block textures, item sprites, mob skins etc. A list of these can be found here. It is worth noting that Pigmen, Zombie, and Zombie Pigmen mobs can use typical player skins (and vice-versa). Skeleton mobs can use typical player skins as well, but keep in mind that they have their skinny arms and legs. (If a skeleton mob skin is used as a player's skin, their legs and arms will not be skinny.)
