DAY TWO DUpon arrival in Brussels, transferA to Antwerpand the pier to embark the MS Amadeus Silver.Excursion: Antwerp. This afternoon, strollthrough Antwerp, one of Europe’s leading artcenters. Home of painter Peter Paul Rubens andthe School of the Southern Netherlands,Antwerp dates back to the 13th century and features a wealth of medieval architecture. Educational Focus: ContemporaryBelgium. Learn about this region of Europe,which is located at the historical crossroads ofmany major trading routes. Belgium is a bilingualcountry, with deep cultural, geographic and linguistic divisions between the Dutch speakersof Flanders and the French speakers of Wallonia.DAY THREE B/DExcursion: Bruges. This romantic town’s nickname, the Venice of the North, is welldeserved. Stroll along winding cobbled lanes andacross tiny arched bridges over ivy-clad canals todiscover charming buildings and impressive artcollections. See the colorful shops and cafés ofthe Markt and Burg Central Square. Rejoin the ship in Middelburg and cruise toVeere, where the ship remains overnight.Gather with your fellow travelers for a WelcomeReception and Dinner.

DAY FOUR B/L/DEducational Focus and Excursion:Holland’s Battle against the Sea. Travelalong the Zeeland coast to the artificial island ofNeeltje Jans and its Delta Expo. Learn about theDelta Works, a series of massive dams andstorm surge barriers, conceived after the 1953North Sea flood and built over a period of 30years. These 65 enormous gates can be slammedshut on the North Sea when powerful stormsstrike — an engineering masterpiece that nowprotects the third of the landmass of theNetherlands that sits below sea level. Depart Veere this afternoon and cruise toSchoonhoven, where the ship remains overnight.

DAY FIVE B/DEducational Focus: The Dutch Masters.Consider how the pioneering brush strokes ofartists like Rembrandt van Rijn, JohannesVermeer, Jans Steen and Frans Hals foreverchanged the art of painting.Excursion: Delft and The Hague. DiscoverDelft, the home of Vermeer and the site of a

collection of lovely canal houses, as well as thepurveyor of a world-renowned tradition ofceramics. Stroll its Market Square and admirethe sights of Old Delft, including the PalacePrinsenhof, once home to William of Orange.Continue to The Hague, home of the royal residence and a number of world-class museums. Visit the Mauritshuis, which housessome of Rembrandt and Vermeer’s finest works.Rejoin the ship in Vreeswijk and cruise toKampen.DAY SIX B/L/DExcursion: Giethoorn. Stroll through thischarming, road-free village located in a naturepreserve. With four miles of canals and exquisite18th-century farmhouses, Giethoorn seems tohave popped out of the pages of a storybook.Independent Exploration: Spend some timeat leisure in the historic city of Kampen. Depart Kampen and cruise to Amsterdam, wherethe ship overnights.DAY SEVEN B/L/DExcursion: Canal Cruise. Admire Amsterdamby the light of morning as you cruise through itsscenic ring of canals to see its important sites.Independent Exploration: Your afternoon isat leisure in Amsterdam.Educational Focus: ContemporaryHolland. Review the current state of affairs inthe Netherlands and discuss its future as amember of the European Union. DAY EIGHT B/L/DExcursion: Keukenhof Gardens. Journeythrough Dutch flower fields to the renownedKeukenhof Gardens, an 80-acre paradise oftulips and other flowers, complete with Europe’slargest fountain and a 700-tree labyrinth.Independent Exploration: Your final afternoon is at leisure to pursue your own interests in Amsterdam.Tonight, gather for a Graduation Ceremony and a Farewell Reception and Dinner.DAY NINE BDisembark the ship and transfer to Amsterdamfor the return flights to your gateway city.
