HOBY's exciting, new online auction will run from April 2- 30, 2007, with the live auction portion scheduled to take place at the Los Angeles Albert Schweitzer Leadership Awards Dinner on May 2, 2007.

Danielle Yaros of Wilkes-Barre, and a 2006 Central Pennsylvania HOBY Alumna, won the 2006 Miss Teen of America Pageant in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Danielle decided to compete for the title as a result of winning the Miss Teen of Pennsylvania in July of last year. Read/more about Danielle’s experience with the pageant and how she plans to use her platform to inspire the youth of today.

New York Leadership Awards Dinner A Success
Though it was a rainy night in New York City, it did not dampen the HOBY spirit. Last fall’s Albert Schweitzer Leadership Awards Dinner honored deserving individuals who empower, lead and excel. The event, held at the magnificent Gotham Hall building in New York City, once again exceeded goals. A knock-out crowd, inspiring honorees, and lively entertainment and dancing left everyone

Experts have estimated that 750,000 households remain displaced by last year’s hurricanes. Victims remain in need of services such as counseling, health care, and mentoring. This alarming statistic also highlights the need for increased support for disaster preparedness and relief, and additional services to strengthen American families and communities.
In response, Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership is proud to announce our partnership with the Points of Light Foundation on the We Are Family campaign to benefit disaster relief and family strengthening efforts across America. The all-star remake of the popular We Are Family song features artists such as Patti LaBelle, Ciara, Chris Brown, Lyfe Jennings, and many others.
We Are Family features nine additional tracks contributed by artists including Martha Munizzi and BeBe Winans. The package also includes a poster designed by Thomas Kinkade, and a “behind the scenes” DVD featuring exclusive artist interviews including cameos by Serena Williams and Alfre Woodard.

If you are 21 and over and have a driver’s license, then you are eligible to apply for Facilitator, Medic, Director of IT, and the newly added Program Coordinator and Technical Coordinator positions at the 2007 World Leadership Congress. For more information click here. Applications for Team Alumni, Operations Team, and the Director of Transportation & Housing have closed. No new applications will be accepted. Selected candidates for the various positions will be announced by mid April.
