School of Public and International Affairs ALUMNI HALL OF FAME NOMINATION FORM The Alumni Hall of Fame is a new institutional mechanism to fulfill the need for alumni recognition and engagement beyond school years. This initiative by the Alumni Council of the School is supported by faculty and staff, and this nomination form seeks your engagement in the process. Please help us identify School alumni to be considered for this Hall of Fame (criteria for nomination below). The Alumni Council of the School will evaluate all nominations and select one outstanding undergraduate and one graduate alumnus/a to be recognized annually, during the School’s awards ceremony in April. CRITERIA FOR NOMINATION: (only one needed to apply to nominee) 1. Outstanding professional accomplishments and impact after graduation [for example, a member of the military who served with distinction and has recently retired; or a government employee who invented a new prototype, championed a groundbreaking process or project; or a think-tank/NGO leader with innovative achievements; or a business leader with innovative industry approaches]. 2. Outstanding volunteer service and impact within the extended communities in which Hokies live [for instance, outstanding volunteer work to improve conditions for populations at risk; innovative planning or transportation initiatives that serve the community; volunteer collaborative initiatives that bring together groups that do not normally talk to one another]. 3. The Alumni Hall of Fame is a new institutional mechanism to fulfill the need for alumni recognition and engagement beyond school years.
