InnovativeFort was founded in 1950 for manufacturing wheelbarrows in quite a new way. At that time these traditional one-wheeled means of transport were mainly out of wood. FORT made its wheelbarrows of steel, choosing new designs and using new production methods. This resulted in better and more economical products. So right from the start FORT has chosen the innovative approach, in more ways than one. Thus quickly taking an edge over the competition and becoming one of Europe’s leading wheelbarrow manufacturers. This position has only been strengthened over the years. Since October 2005 FORT is part of the ALTRAD Group. The ALTRAD Group is well known because of its leadership in concrete mixers and scaffolding.

Wheelbarrows +Although wheelbarrows still are FORT’s core business, the variety of other small transport products is increasing rapidly. A complete line of ergonomic hand trucks and an ingenious garden tool for moving big pots with plants are examples of this development, which also contributes to the continuous growth of the company. Worldwide exportAlready a few years after the successful start of the company in the fifties, FORT began to export wheelbarrows. Nowadays more than 70% of the total production is exported to a great number of areas spread over the globe. With most of them the relationship exists already for decades.

The FORT construction wheelbarrows have a high quality finish. They are engineered with an amazing balance (20% of the load is on the handles) makes it a very easy to use wheelbarrow.

The sturdy strength of every Fort is in it’s frame design, which is made of a one piece steel tube with a diameter of 30 mm and a thickness of 1,5 mm. The metal trays come in either a galvanized or painted finish. They have a very high quality reinforced round tray edge to add extra strength.

The SMB-100, RMB-100 and the PE100 (the PE100 frame patented in North America), these models are specially developed and are fitted with a Poly (HDPE or thick PP) yellow tray. They are basically unbreakable and are designed for the heavy-duty contractors.

Private Labelling: There’s also an opportunity to supply the yellow tray of the wheelbarrow with your own company name. This will strengthen the identity of your company and will prevent theft. Altrad Fort offers 1 year guarantee on the whole construction.
