SAE Hydraulic “Bolt-on” brakesSpring-applied, hydraulically released multi-disc brakes withindustry standard SAE A, B, C, and D input and output flangesenable these brakes to be ‘bolted on’ to a wide variety ofapplications. Fully enclosed brakes are suitable for harshworking environments and are available in wet and dry versionswith static torque ranging from 50 to 1600 Nm (500 to 14,000in. lbs.). These brakes are frequently used as a parking brakeon lift vehicles.

Electromagnetic “Bolt-on” brakesSpring-applied, electrically released multi-disc static holdingbrakes, use the industry standard SAE mount and NEMA “C”face. Originally designed for battery driven electric vehicles butare used in a wide range of access platform lift applications,these brakes offer high torque in a compact design for electricapplications.

Customized integrated hydraulic brakesSpring-applied brake or brake components can be incorporatedinto equipment, gearbox, wheel hub, or similar applications.Because each brake solution is custom designed, Matrix canprovide compact designs that minimize the overall length of thedrive package while still providing the necessary torque for theapplication. Matrix offers complete brake assemblies orcomponents to meet the particular application requirement.

Face Tooth Indexing Rings/Couplings

The Matrix 1TC range of face tooth coupling rings satisfymarket demand for readily available standard face toothcouplings. These couplings are typically manufactured tocustomer-provided drawings meeting specific performancerequirements.

Pressure – Applied ClutchesSeries 4HPneumatically applied, dry, multi-disc clutches for static ordynamic engagement. Optional drive ring connects to thedrive components.

Series 5HPneumatically applied tooth clutches for static or lowdifferential speed engagement. A bearing supported driveflange is provided for the connection of the drivecomponents.

Series 54H-P, 55H-P & 55H-PSPDeveloped from the 4H and 5H series. An integral doublebearing supported pilot mount is provided for the attachment of pulleys, sprockets or other drive components.The 55H-PSP has the additional single position feature for asynchronized drive.

Flexible air lines are required to feed the stationary cylinderson the Matrix pressure applied clutches.

Spring-Applied Electrically Released Brakes

The Matrix spring-applied, electromagnetically released 1EB brakerange offers high torque at high ambient temperatures in smallspace envelopes. Custom solutions, either existing or new, can beprovided for most servo motor applications.

Permanent-Magnet Brakes

Matrix can also offer permanent magnet, electromagneticallyreleased 4PMB brakes. Not only do these brakes provide hightorque in a small space envelope, they are zero backlash with zerodrag torque and low noise during running.
