Sign On
On first launch, you will be prompted to sign in.
1. Enter your Alteva username and password
2. Select if you would like Alteva Mobility to remember your password
3. Select if you would like Alteva Mobility to automatically sign you in on subsequent launches
4. Click Sign In

Communicator Window Overview
The Communicator Window is accessed from the Main Window and it allows the user to send instant messages and escalate to audio and video.

Presence and Status
Viewing your contact’s presence let’s you know if they are available or not. Contacts subscribe to one another to view presence information.

Adding Contacts
You can add contacts from your existing directories using the search tools. You can also add contacts manually.

Edit Contacts
You can edit contacts from options menu by selecting view profile, unsubscribe, or remove.
Right click a contact to access the option menu
Select “View Profile”
Edit Contact Delete Contact
Click Options and select
“Edit Contacts”
Unsubscribe removes presence relationships. Remove deletes the contact from your list.

Communicator Tools
There are several ways in which you can access the communicator tools.

Instant Messaging (Chat)
Once you access the communicator window, type your message and press enter. The receiver is notified with an alert. Once they accept the alert, they will see your message in the communicator window.

Instant Messaging ( Group Chat)
Select your contacts (ctrl + select) and click the chat icon to start a group chat. Your contacts will receive notification and appear in the communication window once they accept.
New contacts can be entered to a chat communication using the drag and drop feature.

Make an Audio or Video Call
You make an audio or video directly from your contacts. You can also escalate an instant message conversation to include video and audio.
To Make a call from your contacts, simply select a contact and click the audio or video controls in the Main Window.

You can escalate an instant message to include audio and video.
Application Call Once the communicator window is open, click the phone icon in the toolbar. Calls from the application allows the user to use the microphone and speaker on his/her computer.

Mobility Call Transfer
You can initiate three types of transfers using Alteva Mobility, Unattended (Blind), Attended(Consulted) and an Attendant Video transfer. To Start, select Transfer Call from the menu options in the communicator window.

You can create a multi-party call by selecting the conference menu in the Communication Window.

You can retrieve the call using Mobility or Phone
Use the dialpad to enter in the extension of the parked call
Pull Call allows you to transfer an active call off your cell phone’s mobility app to your desktop soft phone

Instant Messaging to Video
Call Control Features
You can escalate an instant message to video.
Add Video Click the video icon in the Communication window. You can use instant messaging, the audio from the phone call and video all in one.

Call From Desk Phone Click to dial - Mobility allows you to use the application to initiate an outgoing call from your desk phone.
The call originates from the application and rings your desk Phone From the application or the Communication window, click The desk phone icon

Choose a headset, PC-integrated speakers, or external speakers for audio output.
Choose a headset microphone, PC-integrated microphone, or external microphone for voice during calls.
Select the ring signal that is played when you receive an incoming call.
Select which events cause a notification sound.

Call Settings Alteva Anywhere
Alteva Anywhere simplifies communications for on-the-go users and remote users
by extending the features of a desk phone to any other
fixed or mobile device, regardless of the network or
handset manufacturer.
Select Edit and enter your number.
Select Edit to change settings or click Add to enter a new location
number.

Call Settings Remote Office
Select “Disable” to enable the service and
then enter your number.
Select “Disabled” to enable the service and
then enter your number.
This service allows you to use your home phone, your cell
phone or even a hotel phone as your business phone.

Call Settings Forward Calls
This service allows you to set up to four
call forwarding options, always,
busy, unanswered, and unreachable.
Select the “Disabled” button next to your preferred call
forwarding option and enter a number designation.

Do not disturb will block calls and send calls straight to your
voice mail
