Welcome!
Wherever we each have come from today, it's good to be together. Whether new or old, visitor or member, when we gather and worship, we are visibly representing the body of Christ. St. Mark’s is a downtown church that welcomes a wide diversity of people. We take the ministry of hospitality very seriously, based on the ministry of Jesus Christ whose level of acceptance was extraordinary. St. Mark’s Core Vocation: Feeding San Antonio with the Bread of Life Feeding the hungry with real food Feeding those who are hungry for knowledge and meaning Feeding those who are hungry for beauty and creativity Visitors: Please take a moment and fill out a Visitor Information Card which can be found in the pews. This can be placed in the offering plate or handed to an usher or greeter. If you would like to fill out a visitor card but did not fill one out at church, we have an online version at www.stmarks-sa.org/#/home/newcomers.
Please contact The Rev. Carol Morehead, Associate Rector, for information
regarding baptism, weddings, confirmation and reception, and membership at
210-226-2426 or [email protected].

Vestry Discernment Committee, June 2015 The Vestry Discernment Committee has begun its work for the next Vestry election in the fall. The Vestry has developed a list of the Goals & Challenges for 2016, issues that will most likely shape the vestry's agenda in the coming year. Following the list of Goals & Challenges is a list of Qualities, Characteristics, and Experiences that are desirable to see distributed among the new vestry members. This document can be found on the website. Members of the congregation are invited to contribute names to the list of people that the Discernment Committee is considering. The Discernment Committee will then take all of the names that have been suggested, and match them with the qualities and characteristics desired for the incoming vestry class, together with other considerations such as balancing ages, gender, and areas of parish involvement. Please keep in mind that any vestry nominee must be:
At least 18 years old A communicant in good standing in the Episcopal Church (baptized/confirmed/received) A pledging member of the parish, working towards tithing Regular in attendance and participation
Names may be submitted to any member of the committee: Carl Leafstedt, Suzy Tackett, Tina Kuykeydall, Don Lucas Nancy Reed, Anne Connor, The Rev. Carol Morehead, or emailed to [email protected].
